I don't believe it's a media-specific issue.

I've tested a wide range of file types, including ProRes, H.264, and H.265 (both 8-bit and 10-bit), and the issue persists across all of them. As I've noted, the problem only began after installing VEGAS Pro 23,the issue is replicated across both of my computers, and it is present regardless of the recent Windows update.

Thanks for reporting this. So both computers and with a variety of media. Could you provide a simple project with sample media for us to test on different systems? What's the common cause I wonder.

I too see the same results on my computer. With VP22, it is not an issue. I can slowly move either audio or video smoothly along the timeline. Of course, large movements take a moment to catch up, but putting a clip where I want is easier in VP22.
