Vegas Pro crashes

Hello, I have a problem with Vegas Pro, each time I edit, the viewing window is very slow and the software crashes one or more times. It bothers me because each time, if I didn't remember to save just before, I lose a few minutes of work and I have to start over. Where do you think it could come from?

I'm on Windows 11, have an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU, Radeon RX 480 GPU, 32GB of RAM, and I'm using Vegas Pro 19.0 (Build 550)

I have another question how to best optimize the rendering speed.

Thank you.

@JH26 Hi, I'm on my phone at work but,, As soon as you open a project, save it somewhere, then in the Tools option at the top, Advanced Save - turn on Live Save, this will automatically save after every edit you do, you might loose the very last edit you did because maybe that's the edit Vegas crashed on but it's saved me a few times, next time you open the project it should load up to the last edit you did 👍

@JH26 when it crashes, you usually get an error report box. Check marks the boxes to see where the problem is before sending it off.

Your computer specs are exactly like mine below. I just finished a project I was working on that consisted of 19 tracks, compositing, animation, effects of all types, music, etc.. What would seem to happen is that when I first start my computer to edit, Vegas did crash at least twice. But the third restart would be a charm. I'd work for hours with no problems using Boris and NBFX. I also do incremental saves renaming the project each step of the way.

I had no idea about this live save option, that's very handy, I will have to have a look at this so thank you for kindly sharing that.

I do love Vegas, it's a fantastic programme but it does have quite a lot of problems for such an expensive programme so things like this are very handy.

Thank you!! 😊

@Easyweb
Yes, Vegas Pro is often underestimated. There are usually several ways to operate a function.
It's also worth reading the various threads here in the forum - many of them give you the opportunity to learn a little something new.
