When recording with H264 it opens the files without any problem. I changed the Nvidia drivers to Studio latest 430.86, and set Vegas PRo decoder to NVIDIA NVDEC, also turned on quicktime support with no luck. I wouldn't like to re-encode the files if possible.

BTW, Filmora opens the files without any issues.

Using Vegas Pro 17 Build 284, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Thank you very much!

Welcome to this user forum.
First of all update to the latest Vegas Pro 17 build 321.
Does did not help, I will try you to help if you upload such a small HEVC file to a dropbox option where we can download it without being converted.

HEVC should be decoded by mxhevcplug.dll, not compoundplug.dll.

What camera?

Dear j-v and Nick

I updated to build 387, and it works with H265 files as long as they are 30 fps. When they are 60fps Vegas does not import them properly. I can only hear the audio but can't see the video.

Drivers are Nvidia Studio Driver 441.66

I have used 30 fps for a while but today I needed to use 60 fps footage and nothing...

The camera is an Akaso V50 Elite.

I have uploaded a test file in Mega here

Thanks again!

@Nanozombi
Impossible to download the file into my dropbox, you did not send the right link.
On Mega I could dowload that file that has this Media INfo

But that is not a 4K format Vegas can handle, only the audio plays.
You have to use a files in HEVC (H.255 codec) as you showed in your first screenshot in the OP.
When I convert the file in Handbrake tot H.265 Vegas will accept it

Thanks @j-v for the quick answer. When I opened the file in HandBrake it told me the source was 79.87 FPS. May this be what is wrong with this file? Is there any turnaround to use them in Vegas directly? By the way, Premiere Pro is not importing it either, but Filmora detects it as 4k 60 fps and opens it without problems. But of course Filmora is not really what I need to use...

I mean, I have recorded over 2 hours of 4K 60fps shootage and if I have to convert them with Handbrake I will finish this job in summer 😆
