Vegas pro freezes windows 10 and corrupts .veg files

I've gotten a problem recently that randomly when I edit: Windows will stop responding, spotify will loop the last 3 sec of the song I heard over and over again, and when I restart the PC (which only works by clicking the power button, the windows task bar is completely unresponsive), the .veg file AND the veg.bak file doesn't work.

 

What can I do?
