Vegas Pro not showing all of GoTo.com meeting recordings

Dave-Pease6055 wrote on 8/20/2025, 3:56 PM

Vegas Pro 22 does not show the full length of some GoTo.com meeting recordings. Part way through the project, the video stops changing while showing the last frame that Vegas processes for the duration of the video. I've tested it on the latest Vegas Pro version that I updated to today.

The video plays normally in VLC and can be process properly by Davinci Resolve - Free version. I've submitted this issue to Magix with pointers to sample video to reproduce the problem some months ago.

I have not heard back.

This problem is not an issue with Vegas Pro 17 which is not supported on Windows 11.

How can I get a download of Vegas Pro 19 which is supported on Windows 11 and test it for this problem?

What is the best way to get traction on this issue?

@Dave-Pease6055 If you have a sample video post the link on here using the chain icon at the top of a new comment, you'll get a much better response from the people on this forum who have many yrs of experience.

This a follow up to the above link. I can't figure out how to use the link features.

Thanks, Here's the link to a GoTo.com meeting video where Vegas Pro doesn't display the entire video with the freeze frame problem at the end: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uObBB2WdfKLWgFVsyai1KD-2x-lus7Fp/view?usp=sharing

I ran your sample video through VideoReDo Quick Stream Fix with the following results:

Hi John,

I got the VideoReDo TVSuite installed. but I don't have a key. It processed only the first 15 minutes of the video, but even that shortened video had a freeze frame at the end.

@Dave-Pease6055 VP22.

Your video freezes at this point, the audio continues.

Variable frame rate but I don't think I've ever seen 'M=1, N=60'. that seems high, I don't know enough about that to go in depth.

I turned on Legacy AVC in Preferences - File IO & the video now plays to the end.

@Dave-Pease6055 VP21 build (300) got the new File IO Plugin - mxcompoundplug which doesn't seem to like your AVC video.

Previous versions had the so4compoundplug, that's why your old VP19 works & why turning on Legacy AVC (so4compoundplug) fixed the video in VP22.

@Dave-Pease6055 Try this file: Link to Video Sample

If it works, I'll 'splane how I did it.

@Dave-Pease6055

I replicated @Gid's experience that Vegas Pro 22-250 will play your original file to the end using Legacy AVC Decoder.

I'd probably rewrap / re-encode the file anyway using Shutter Encoder just so I don't have to fool with the old encoder.

Dave-Pease6055 wrote on 8/21/2025, 4:57 PM

Hi John,

How do I play the original file in Vegas with "Legacy AVC Decoder"?

I've found that I can run the fix the file using HandBrake with video bit rate set to "constant". I'd rather use your "Legacy AVC Decoder" suggestion if it's native in Vegas Pro.

@Dave-Pease6055

Options / Preferences / File I/O

Tick the box and restart Vegas Pro.

Excellent! Thanks John.

Dave-Pease6055 wrote on 8/21/2025, 7:40 PM

John's solution is native to Vegas Pro 22 to process GoTo.com recordings. Best outcome...
