Vegas Pro Update 648 Cannot read .jpeg nor .png files.

Matthew-Gayton wrote on 12/21/2022, 11:52 AM

I just updated my Vegas Pro 19.0 to build 648, and the program can no longer see any .png files on my computer. I've refreshed the media folder to no avail. Is anyone else having this issue?

I'm running Windows 10 64Bit (fully updated).

Nvidia GTX1080Ti

60GB RAM

Edit: Apparently, Vegas Pro 19.0 build 648 also cannot read .jpeg files either. I will uninstall and re-install the program and see if that fixes the issue.

I just updated and am able to use "Import Media" and browse and import .png and jpeg files into the Project Media panel and then add them to the timeline.

Thank you! I'll give that try. (As I only discovered this when I'm in a time crunch I've already uninstalled and have begun the re-installation process. Ugh! Yet another lesson to take a breath and slow down with things don't work correctly on the first try!)

@Matthew-Gayton Reinstalling doesn't always fix problems. If they still exist do a "Factory reset" https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

Make sure you tick the box so as to clear your cache (reinstalling doesn't do that).

Hi Eric, that's good advice. The problem was resolved upon reinstallation, but should an update have that effect again I will do a factory reset.

Thanks all for your advice! Cheers!

No problem here, just installed from within V19 and imported png and jpg with no issues. No need to reinstall. I also have a 1080Ti.
