@vegas-edit-user Thanks. To find out I've downloaded a VP23 trial.
Unfortunately its Render Options are set out quite different to what I've been used to with VMS17 and VP21. Very confusing. Some of my existing Favorites from VMS17/VP21 appear but only mp4 ones, not my avc and AC-3.
I haven't found any way of rendering AC-3 audio, nor Blu-ray AVC or AVCHD. There's no Sony AVC/MVC templates. Selecting DVD & Blu-ray brings up a list of MP4 renders with AAC audio. But my experience is that MP4 files are never Blu-ray compliant, and the same goes for AAC audio. DVDA7 would recompress them. I realise that few discs are burnt nowadays but I find this very misleading and incorrect.
Whether this is a restriction of the trial version I don't know. I'll have another play this evening but my first impressions are that I'll be sticking with VP21.
Unfortunately it doesn't solve Jean-yves problem. We need to find a user with VP22 on Win11 which still has the windows AC-3 component.
Edit: I've also just realised that there's no wav option under Audio. Only MP3 is available. Is this a limitation of the trial version? I have the render window set on "Show all formats".
I've now discovered from this thread https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/insufficient-render-codecs-options-in-vegas-pro-23--150176/ that the render options in the trial are very limited. It would be nice if Vegas gave an on-screen message informing the user of this when going to render. During 13 years of trying and purchasing Vegas products it's the first time I've come across this behaviour in a trial version.
