Vegas will no longer open

Stephen-Goldberg wrote on 6/24/2019, 7:50 PM

When I try and open Vegas Pro 16 I get a window asking me to register. My serial number is there with the correct email address. I cannot bypass this. I click register and I get an error 24 message saying this has already been registered to another email address. So I cannot proceed. I am working on several projects for clients and this right now is a disaster for my business. Besides contacting support is there anything someone can suggest? When I tried to log into my account I was unable. It said my info was incorrect but I keep a record of all my user names and passwords. So I asked for a new password but no email was sent. So I created a new account with the same email address but none of my purchase history is there. https://1drv.ms/u/s!As9ClvB0yCOTh8cC1S20v0KggqTvWg

@Stephen-Goldberg ... if you use the search facility on this forum for 'error 24', there are quite a number of posts, an example being:

Unfortunately, the only solution given - including in a reply by a MAGIX employee - was to contact MAGIX customer support to resolve the problem.

It is not an ideal solution, but if you are desperate, you could try renting Vegas 365 for 3 months. The terms of agreement says full refund if cancelled within 14 days. By then, I would think this could be sorted out. And if you explain situation, perhaps Magix can even give you a break some way and some how. I realize it requires an expenditure on your part, but at least you could get the work done.

For future reference, I would keep an eye out for the Humble Bundle options, that way you can pick up an extra copy or two of Vegas and never run the risk of being without a copy to use. I'm sure many Vegas users have several versions of the software lying around.

Actually Magix support responded quickly and the issue was resolved. I had somehow been registered with an email address I seldom use and so all is good now. Magix support is much more responsive that Sony Creative was so that is good news.
