Version 15 Upgrade Problem

I've upgraded to VEGAS Movie Studio 15 Platinum. Here's the problem: it takes forever to open. At this moment, I've been waiting nearly a quarter of an hour to get to 38%. Version 14 opened in 15-30 seconds. What's the problem with this wonderful new upgrade I just purchased?

Join the club. VMS appears to have a few problems, as per the General Discussion thread - here.

Hopefully it will get fixed soon with an update. But is your problem with opening the programme or opening an existing vf file?

Opening the program. I managed to open it once, just after the installation, but it took at least twenty minutes just to open with the demo film in place. So much for those "blinding speeds" I was promised! For now, I'll continue to use Version 14 - it's working just fine. I'll try the upgrade every day or so - just to see if things have gotten better.

It probably won't get better until a new build is released.

Whilst my MS15 opens slowly compared to MS14 it's not much longer so there appears to be something on your system causing it problems. Suggest you lodge a ticket with Magix but firstly have a look at Nick's post here.

I've taken your advice and lodged a ticket. This isn't a crisis because I am still able to use the previous version with no problems whatsoever. My guess is there is a problem with Version 15 - not VEGAS Movie Studio, per sew. I've been using it for years and never had a problem with any upgrades. I'll try reinstalling it - that's what I'll be instructed to do at some point, anyway. Have a great weekend, wherever you're having it.
