VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR when using Vegas 19

twik wrote on 9/30/2022, 6:16 AM

I am running the latest version of Vegas Pro 19, build 643. When I run it and exit, I get the VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR message in WIndows and windows crashes and reboots. The same happens with Vegas 20 Eval. Also, this error will popup at a later time, generally a few minutes after I exited Vegas Pro. In other cases, if I let a project open in Vegas Pro, go and do something else, and then go back to Vegas Pro, the system hangs and the error pops up again. I have GPU Accelleration OFF and Dynamic Preview set to 0 (Zero). What is happening here? Any clues?

A Google search re this particular error message largely results in advice that this is caused by outdated computer specifications particularly related to GPU drivers. See this from Microsoft Answers (re Premiere Pro)::

BTW, a search of this forum found no mention of this error message being raised in the past.
