Video length adjust

alexa-b wrote on 12/6/2024, 2:37 AM

Hi. When i put velocity on 50% it keeps repeating video, when i speed up video it cut it. I know i can manually stretch the video by holding ctrl etc. But i want this to be full automatic, like in other software Magix. If it's not possible, can someone please provide me a script for that. Because I've used the Magix software and get used to it, would love to be have the same in Vegas Pro. Thanks!

yeah it's working, but not for 4 points velocity, only for the simple tasks

Either go to event properties as indicated or rigth click on the event, choose Switches > Trim Events to include all frames. This will adjust the length of the event as you change the velocity. Is that not happening?

It's working for simple velocity edits, like with 2 points, and when i use something complicated it's absolutely doing nothing

Sorry I missed that important detail in my first reply. Vegas Creative Software was acquired by Magix from Sony Corp. in 2016. Vegas is not a Magix native product.

Therefore, Vegas Pro bears little, if any resemblance to other Magix products you may own.

If you will start a new thread, and put the words [Feature Request] in your topic title, it will get noticed by the right people and they will always respond.

@alexa-b

I cannot replicate, as soon as Switch "Trim Events to include all frames" is activated and an event velocity envelope is added, I can create several velocity keyframes (so more than 2) and each time when a keyframe is added (and velocity changes at that point) the total length of the event changes accordingly.

IMO that's exactly where you're looking for.

Thank you, it not working every time for everything, sadly

@alexa-b The techniques suggested here work well for most other users, so this may be a training, rather than a technical issue.

One needs to start by taking Baby Steps using Vegas, and learn as you grow from your online peers, many of whom have been here twenty years or longer.

Here is a good starting place for you to search and solve your own issues, which is by far the best teacher. Once you have tried them, and need a little guidance, we are always here to help you!

Have you used Magix editing software or heck even capcut or Ae or anything else? You can manipulate with velocity as much as you want and it will automatically stretch or cut the lenght even if im using 10 points velo
