A handful of my recorded MP4 videos aren't showing that they have a video track when trying to edit them. They have video when playing with a media player, and I have some success uploading them to YouTube, then downloading the MP4 video from that, but I don't want to do that because it lowers the quality somewhat. This is happening to about 5% of my videos, seemingly at random.

It was recorded in Hauppauge Capture. 4 other videos were recorded in the same way right after and didn't have this problem.
Did you intend to capture 3 audio streams? If not, can you disable 2 of them somehow in your capture software? Or mix them into 1 audio stream?
Did the 4 other (successful) videos also have 3 audio streams?
It's an artifact from our capture software, and all of our videos have them. The only difference seems to be that Movie Studio can't see the video track for this video.
For example, this video was recorded right after the first and doesn't have the same problem:

You could try one of the converters mentioned in section 7 of this post: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-why-won-t-vegas-open-my-file-correctly-codecs-converters-etc--104572/
You could also try the trick in section 6, to bypass compoundplug, but that's a bit of a long shot because of those multiple audio streams.
Please let us know if anything in that post works.
If it happens again I'll try. I got around it by uploading the video to YouTube and then downloading it with a decent HD downloader. A minor loss in quality, but I'll live with it.
