Video won't render if there are any effects.

I'm rendering a 1 minute long video in Vegas Pro 14 (on Windows 10) with a moderate amount of video effects. When clicking "render as" at any format, the render bar will get stuck at 0%. The "approximate time left" will continue to go up (about 1 hour or more at 1 minute elapsed time usually) without stopping while elapsed time goes as it should; all that appears in the video preview is a black screen. The program then will become very sluggish.

However, this only happens if there are effects in the video; I can easily render videos without effects used in them. I'm wondering if I am the first person to experience this. The obvious solution would be to remove all FX from the video, but that's not what I want to do.

Vegas has been running fine since, with some small issues that have popped up...but nothing like this.

I've come to the conclusion continuing to problem-solve that the issue is probably in the video source itself. I've placed effects in other videos and test-rendered them, and they render just fine.

Perhaps a certain effect plugin(s) are to blame...

I am SO sorry for this third post, but the video renders fine now. I deleted a mask over the video that blurred out particular people's names.

Something in this post might help you get your video to render without deleting the mask. For example, disabling GPU acceleration. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-stop-vegas-pro-hanging-or-crashing-during-rendering--104786/
