VP10e Render Question

I have been pulling out what little bit of hair I have left this morning after trying to render some footage in VP10e to a .mov file. I transferred some old Hi-8 footage with the Canopus for a client who wants to edit in FCP. I used a lot of different render types including the Avid codec and he picked the one he liked best from many samples I placed on a data DVD for him - basically just a plain vanilla QT mov render using a custom template I created. Since there are many files, I needed to render to an external HDD so I grabbed a new blank drive and started to render (previous tests had been to another drive I use for most of my video while in progress). The .mov files will not render to this new drive I am using. Any other type of render will work fine to the new drive - avi, mpg2, even audio to wav and AC3 from the same original footage. AND, the .mov file will render to 6 other drives I have, both internal and external. But the same footage will not render a .mov file to this one new HDD. When I click save on the render dialogue using the mov template, the progress bar pops up on screen for a sec, then goes away and nothing was rendered. Anyone have any thoughts?

The fact it's a different drive might be a red herring, and Quicktime might be messing with you. Try rolling back to Quicktime 7.6.2.

Thanks Nick but no joy with older QT either. What's so strange, if I render files to another drive, I can move or copy them to the problem drive and they play fine. And. like I said, I can render any other format but QT to the new drive. I agree that it sounds like a QT thing but why just this drive? Verrrrry strange.
