A fellow moderator discovered this bug in VP14.
If you apply a pre-Pan/Crop FX to an animated still image, the animation behaves incorrectly and/or Vegas crashes.
Example test procedure:
- New project
- Set project settings to HD 1080-24p (1920x1080, 23.976 fps)
- Media Generators > Checkerboard > Default > drag to timeline
- Save snapshot to file image1.png
- Remove generated media and add image1.png to timeline
- Create a smooth zoom in Pan/Crop (move to last keyframe > lock aspect ratio > size about center > drag the "F" box smaller)
- Add a Levels FX with "Computer RGB to Studio RGB" preset
- Play the timeline to check for correct function
- Save the project
- In the FX chain drag Levels to before Pan/Crop
- It might crash immediately. If it does, re-open the project
- Play the timeline. The animation "jumps around" and in some cases Vegas crashes.
The problem occurs with both PNG and JPEG files.
The problem occurs with other FX such as Color Corrector.
The same problem occurs if you add the FX as a Media FX.
There is no problem in VP10, 12 or 13.
Feel free to confirm or add observations!
