VP14 error when installing.

I recently bought Vegas pro 14 and every time I run the installer it spits out error code -2147163964

I did some googling and found the log file in appdata, but all the websites suggest that I need to find the file mentioned in the error.

"Error Code: FINISH TXT ERROR: -2147163964 occured during installation

Module C:\Program Files (x86)\VEGAS\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio_x64\sfppack1_x64.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895. Contact your support personnel.
"

There after the installer fails there is no VEGAS subfolder in my program files so I'm stuck on how to fix this error.

Some suggestions to try:

1. Try an alternative installer. Either the VP14 download manager, or the direct build 270 installer. Explanation in this post if you need it.

2. Download and install "Microsoft Visual C ++ 2008 (x64)" and "Microsoft Visual C ++ 2008 (x86)". Then restart the PC and run the installation again. (found by translating this post).
