VP14 Freezes After I Try To Adjust Master Fader

Sneddy wrote on 1/12/2017, 9:46 PM

I have Win 7 64 bit and the latest build of VP 14 - when I adjust the master fader (fader doesn't move) I can no longer control the program - it freezes. If the project is playing and I adjust the fader (which again I can't) the project continues to play without the ability to stop it. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Sounds like the same issue that was reported by wilvan on my thread about a different bug.

Nick, thank you. Do you think Majix is aware of this?

Indeed , old and pretty nasty issue  . Discussed this , together with some other window lay-out issues , directly with the sony developers ( which I believe are still there ) . They , at that time , promised to solve it in the next update but in meanwhile we are many updates further ....  Undocking this master fader stops this issue .

I don't have that issue on my system and so do others. The issue with solving such a problem is isolating the cause which is time is time consuming and costly.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't have this issue with VP 10 or 12. All my other programs work fine - computer works fine.

Could those that suffer this issue please list the following so we can try and find a common factor:

  • Windows version
  • Vegas version(s) inc build number
  • Graphics card
  • Graphics card driver version
  • Mouse brand and model
  • Mouse driver version
  • Audio card brand and model
  • Audio card driver version
  • Anything else relevant that I haven't thought of

Probably, and I've just added it to a list of outstanding issues in the Moderator's forum, but to make sure it gets their attention I suggest you submit a support request via http://support.magix.com/vegas , including as much detailed information about the problem as you can.

Maybe many of those that have this issue use add on audio cards?

Good point. Added to the list above.

Again, I appreciate the replies. I did submit a support ticket last night. I'm using an ADK laptop purchased 2014. It's an i7-4810MQ 2.80 GHz,16 GM RAM, 64 bit, graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M I use the touchpad - a Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad. It has two internal audio cards: NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. I haven't tried my Steinberg external audio interface yet to see if my problem gores away. To be honest, I like using my laptop in my lap :-)
