A similar thread had already been resolved and since mine isn't, I'm starting a new thread.

Clean install initially of Vegas Pro 15 Trial - Registered with Magix, entered trial serial number, go to start - immediately crashes with this information:

For me, clean install won't even open on my laptop but Vegas Pro 13 no problem. Installed latest SeMW 1.0.9 plugin as I have been using it in VP13. Reset it within VP13, VP15 starts then hangs on creating windows.

This is what it looks like before having to force close. My desktop trial install went pretty much without issue, laptop is another matter!!! 😡

What GPU? What driver version? Try updating it.

Older Nvidia Quadro FX880M for the laptop GPU and latest nvidia drivers

Looks likely to be a GPU issue. Installing latest NVIDIA GPU drivers is the current advice for VP15. All I can suggest is working through the "will not start" post, ending up with a support request if you can't resolve it. I understand the devs are working with NVIDIA on resolving issues. They might not have encountered your particular GPU before so your report could be very valuable.

I would also take SeMW Extensions off completely to check it's not that, even if you have updated to 1.0.9.

I tried with the SeMW extension uninstalled as well as the updated version released same day VP15 was. I'm really liking what I see on my desktop and if the issues around my laptop are resolved, I will be upgrading.

update: I looked thru the various log files and checked specifically the GPU start up log and it states that my laptops GPU is fully compatible - Latest drivers installed and all Windows updates as well. I sure hope Tech support gets back to me soon - I have a shoot this Friday that needs to be edited and I'd really like to see how well VP15 works - I CAN resort to VP13 as I am traveling and editing but would prefer to give VP15 a proper try and see how well it will really utilize my GPU - VP13 sees the GPU but the eye strain of the lighter interface makes my editing sessions less that comfortable. I'm at a total loss what else to try given I've tried all the troubleshooting options.

Following the troubleshooting page, I started by progressively disabling OFX plugins in C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 15.0\OFX Video Plug-Ins. The crash went away when I disabled HitFilmVegasBasic.ofx.bundle.
