This can occur if you have some Hitfilm Ignite FX installed. Temporarily rename the folder where the Hitfilm effects are installed and see if VP will start up then. Once it has you can rename the Hitfilm folder and it should be OK after that.

Unfortunatly your suggestion did not work, I even removed Hitfilm from my system but it still crashed.

I also tried re naming the VSTPlugins to old which was a problem i had when i bought VP15 but that also didnt have any joy

Thanks Nick tried some suggestions it did get past after renaming on of the ofx folder then crashed near completion of loading it appeared to fail during External Monitoring.

Thanks for your help but the deeper i got to all suggestions the more complicated things were for just a trial, i will leave 16 for now and usemy vp15 instead

I searched a lot, trying to find out what that mesage you wrote earlier could mean. I found nothing, also not on the files my VPro 16 have to load.
My Vegas version load only ofx files , but no efx.
Maybe you have to clean up your hardware, first looking at what efx means on your hardware,

I can only comment on the last thing i saw before the crash this was just after direct x. I searched the forum and found no refrence either hence leaving it for now. I may be updating my system in the new year to i9 lets hope it may work then as my i7 3770k is getting towards retirement. It doesnt stop me editing as Vegas is not my primary nle
