VP17 Build 353 - GPU acceleration PROBLEM

AlesCZ wrote on 11/19/2019, 12:52 PM

Hello,

GPU acceleration does not work in version 353. I do not know how is it possible. I get better performance with GPU acceleration turned off. In the previous version I had about 50fps(Good half window settings) when editing 4K video(mp4 AVC), in version 353 I have about 2fps with GPU acceleration.

I thought something went wrong in Windows, so I reinstalled the system. Still the same problem.

Windows 10, GTX1080

Have you tried to disable so4compoundplug.dll?

are you using studio drivers?

Do you have your Nvidia GPU selected to decode in the file i/o tab of preferences?

More information would be good! Vegas Pro 17 and build 353 for me works great. Even better than the release version. Render times are down and better intergration with Hitfilm. I have a GTX 1070 in an Acer Predator Helios 500 laptop. The GPU is a full desktop version, with an i9 and 32 gig. We need those types of specs...and yes whether you're using NVidia game or studio drivers.

Go back to previous version , see if your speed returns. For me It did not. I used to get 60fps playing 2x 4k60fps tracks, now i get maybe 27fps playing a single track. I went back to previous version and now it's no better. I noticed though that I have intel graphics again. This occurred due to a Windows update. I feel the update broke something. I will remove intel drivers again and reset computer later

Yes, I feel that the last major Windows update has gone wrong. I use current Studio drivers. I'll try to disable so4compoundplug.dll yet, but I've never done that before.
It's weird, it annoys me. Reinstalling the system means all day, or two working for me to install all the software...
