My Vegas 6.0c doesn't recognize my VST plugins in Vista Ultimate x86 (I've tried Vegas 7.0d as well). The plugins are located in c:\program files\vstplugins.
If you go back and read your post Jaydeee in addition to suggesting the poster bag on Vista you added:
"Why on earth would one WANT Vista installed anyway...at anytime?"
Many people WANT Vista. One of those people asked if anyone had a suggestion as to how to get VISTA and Vegas 6 to play well together. He wasn't asking how to get Vegas 6 to play well with XP.
You obviously don't like Vista and don't wish to elaborate on the issues which you don't like and how they adversely affect Vegas. Why don't you start a Jaydeee says Vista sucks thread instead of jumping in on EVERY potentially constructive thread that mentions Vista and adding your vitrolic non-specific comments.
So not to beat a dead horse...but here is what is posted on the M-Audio site in regards to Vista. It sure would be nice if Sony had it in them to communicate with thier customers.
"Windows Vista
M-Audio has been keeping pace with changes to the Windows Operating System since the release of Windows 95 nearly 12 years ago. We are very excited about the opportunity to offer continued support to our Windows customers as the Windows Pro Audio community begins the gradual transition to the Vista era. Over the past year, we have worked directly with Microsoft’s Vista team to prepare for this release.
Currently, M-Audio does not offer Vista drivers or Vista software updates (beta or otherwise). As soon as Vista drivers or updates for any product are available, this FAQ and other portions of our Web site will be immediately updated to reflect this. Due to the nature of software and driver development, we are not able to provide exact dates or timeframes for when specific drivers will become available—but please rest assured that supporting Vista is a top priority for us.
As Vista drivers become available they will be posted to our Drivers page. If a driver is offered during the beta (pre-release) phase of its development, you will need to click the “Show Beta Drivers” option on the Drivers page in order to view and download that particular driver.
We thank you for your patience during this exciting period of change in the Windows community."

What?
Since when are the vegas forums now the beta testing grounds for a MS OS?
If you can praise and push Vista here, I think I can voice my honest opinion of this GARBAGE OS release.
Do you really think anything I say is going to stop you from moving forward with Vista? No. I'm just telling some that, as is, Vista is not going to do anything for content creators (except suck $200+ out of their wallets).
It's pointless.
I don't hate MS, but I am disgusted in MS in regards to THIS OS release. So much COULD have been done with an OS update and user types here (content creators), but wasn't. This OS is a mirror image of what MS is today - currently ineffectual and bloated. Watch the pretty aero (while they slip the $ from your wallet).
I wasn't praising or pushing anything but the exchange of information which the original poster asked for. You are the nay sayer who does not communicate in specific terms other than HATE, GARBAGE, BLOAT etc. If you dislike something you should be specific about what you are saying. You offer nothing but negativity without substance.
This is in fact a forum where users of Vegas can exchange information while hoping for a bit of input from Sony. It's not a Win2k forum or an XPSP2 forum. It's a VEGAS users forum. I suppose questions about running Vegas in a virtual enviornment would be out of bounds for you as well. Or discussion of trying ot make a certain video card or audio interface work well etc etc.
