Want to add 2 or 3 lines of text

I need to add 2 or more lines of text using "Titles & Text" but it only allows 1 line. If I hit return it looks as if it's going to put in on a second line, but only adds it to the first line. Is there a way?

For me it works with "return" at the end of the line without problems.
Or am I not getting this right - do you want to write a script for it because you posted under "Scripts"?

Thanks for your comments. I did find a work around of sorts. I found at least one of the text boxes that has 3 lines in the sample, as long as I highlight each line separately it will let me write over the text and it appears correctly, one line over the other, on my timeline.
