Weird things while rendering NVENC

liork wrote on 10/20/2017, 3:38 PM

Trying VP15, and while rendering 4K files with NVENC, I am getting weird color flashes in the final video, sometimes few seconds of black frame etc.

CPU 4K rendering is fine, also 1080 NVENC, only 4K NVENC is not OK.

Dynamic RAM Preview is set to 0.

What GPU model? What driver version? What type of 4k media? Any FX?

GPU GTX 960, latest driver version (but tested also with older drivers), 4K MOV files, also tested with XAVCS 4K and same results. Tried with FX like Colorfast 2 and Hitfilm Vibrance, but it also happens with non FX media.

What is the source of the MOV files? Which codec is Vegas using to decode them (see part 2 of this)?

Does this help? https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/new-avc-issues-in-vp15-try-disabling-so4compoundplug-dll--108345/

Disabled this dll, but didn't help. I am using 4K Sony H.264 XAVCS files and Olympus H.264 4K Mov files.

I suggest you submit a support request at https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/vegas/form , including as much detailed information about the problem as you can, including the exact NVIDIA driver versions that you have tried.

Hopefully the next build might resolve it.

I have found the problem cause. It is GPU RAM related, I'll post new thread about it.

(It would have been better to continue in this thread)

I tough it would be a good idea to concentrate all info about NVENC and Nvidia cards performance in a dedicated thread.
