Yes the Paris meeting was fantastic. I cant believe the support Sony gave to the community, and thanks to them they saved me $999 bucks :) (i won the big prize) heh heh heh.

Man I have had some headaches with vegas 5 in the last week, but I think its all worked out now. Just got Network rendering to work and man oh man is it sweet.

"Sorry Jay. I was trying to fill Nat's request rather than steer the conversation away from the original post."

Thanks again Chaboud !

All you complainers, you are still using Vegas for the same reasons I am using it. It's the best combination audio video editor available. I am using Vegas because it does the job and any other application available that could possible come close would cost me much more money. For $199 you not only get upgraded Vegas but you get a considerably upgraded DVDA. You should be able to make that back in a few hours of work. It's really a bargin.

I think you will find that Sony is still in the formative stages of deciding where Vegas is finally heading.
They have a captive audience with their existing products and leadins with the Screenblast software.Vegas 5 is only a fill in upgrade leading to a complete overhaul that will firmly establish Vegas as a part of the integrated Sony video and audio products.
I don't think Sony have had the time yet to have clearly identify a complete vision of how they can dominate the area of video and audio production. They definitely wouldn't want to be an also ran in this area, but how to get there is a complex and time consuming question.
Vegas is great start but it is only the basis of much greater things to come.
