What's your favorite script?

One of the great features of Vegas is scripting and of course the people who write them. My all time favorite is "Open in Graphic Editor" by Gilles Pialat. It allows you to open your still images in Photoshop (or any other graphic editing program) with a single click. It also gives you the option of opening the graphic as a new take.

His scripts are available here: http://sony.vegas.1.free.fr/

I also find Excalibur by Edward Troxel incredibly useful and well worth the price. What's your favorite script?

Excalibur is actually a script based extension as is Ultimate S.... both of which I have and as far as I'm concerned, they both should be built right into Vegas because that's how good they are.

As for raw scripts, the ones I use the most are the 'curve' script which adjusts all of your fade in/out curves to what you wish, all at the same time. The 'regions to subtitle' script is also one that I can't do without, and the stereo split script also comes in handy.

Favorite: Ultimate S, before that Still Motion if they count.
Most Used: Swap Events and a little script to change preview type.
Most fun: Quake

For their general, highly professional GUI-ness: UltimateS Pro & Excalibur (these were scripts - are they still called this? - at one point but have now matured into proper GUIs and appear as Extensions)

For its SMA (save-my-ass) value: Auto Save (Thanks Edward!)

For its Creativity and just general cross-platform-alertness to DO this: Open In Graphics Editor. ( Gilles? I have an idea for you.)

For its professional Virtual Dub connection; easy on the eye and very clever Help Tips - great for me! Its parsimoniousness (it's free!) - New Deshaker (it's Grazie-Proof on install and usage) Thanks to Andy, David Arendt & the input from John Meyer too.

Grazie

My favorite script?

NewDeshaker for Sony Vegas!

With correct settings better then the comercial deshakers i tested.

Why? It can use previous and future frames to fill in borders.

Is this the New Deshaker? http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.edmiston/deshaker.htm

Does it work with V9?

"Does it work with V9?"I've been unable to get it to work with Win 7 64bit & Vegas 9.0c 32bit. (variable MZ not found). See: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=698295&Replies=0

I wrote a note to the author, Andy E, but he didn't have the proper software installed to debug the problem.

Can anyone else help with this?

...Jerry

Works excellent with Vegas pro9c on Win7 (64bits)

No problems on XP (32bits) either.

Working here on XP (32bits).

At the risk of pointing out how much I work with stills, I must say that I use the "Match Aspect Ratio" the most. Another that gets used "Reduce Interlace Flicker".

I've found Proxy Stream to be useful.

I use lots of stills too and I use "Reduce Interlace Flicker" a lot. A great script for me.
Byron K wrote on 3/18/2010, 1:03 PM
Is the "Reduce Interlace Flicker" script that you and Backlit are refering to the checkbox in Proxy Stream or another script?

Thanks!

I installed the "open in graphics editor" script together with my very old Corel 12 Photopaint into Vista 64bit Ultimate and Vegas 9.0c 32 bit and everything worked except the "take" shows the same still even though it's labelled correctly. If I import the new take to the media project file via "import media" and install on the timeline then it's fine. Also tried in 64 bit but they show up as black. Not a big deal but it works well enough.
