At scripting stage for a video on 'Impact of Excercising on Health'. Trying to write-in plenty of movement shots. Hopefully I can get the steadycam junior dusted and setup. It's training video for health professionals - for a big hospital near London Bridge.

I'm about half way through editing a two-hour Ice Show. This is an 8-camera edit.
I am also producing this as a multi-angle DVD with certain sections having 2 or 3 choices.Should be pretty cool :-)

Cutting a low, low budget zombie movie. Finishing up a short fund raiser doc on Pakistan earthquake.

Getting ready to shoot a video for a magician friend to be sold as part of his lecture tour. Multiple angles and text required throughout the DVD. Also a possible wedding edit job. I transferred a 60th birthday party to DVD and managed to bring some life to it and the guy with the 3 VHS wedding tapes called me about doing the editing. A years old promise he never kept to his sister. On the birthday DVD I include the original version and the corrected version and that really help sell it. I had to cut out really bad camera movements and relocate sound and fix the basement lighting as best I could.

I'm scurrying to make a submission deadline for my latest film, "The Cowboys of Florida".

Yes, Virginia, there are cowboys in Florida - in fact it's the second largest cattle state in the USA!

Here's a sneak preview of the opening, if you're interested. In fact, even this opening has been revised quite a bit, and I'll mount the revision for youse guys, later on this week.

This movie started almost four years ago, so it's been shot with SD - we used a Sony PD170,PD150 and a VX1000. Completely edited in Vegas. It's a labor of love - shot on weekends and cut in spare time.

We even got some music by the esteemed Douglas Spotted Eagle, but not in this scene (sorry Spot, still cutting that one!)

Here's the link - have patience, it's huge (my mistake) - I'll recompress it later tonight for the more practical folks out there. If you've got dialup - don't even think about it 'til tomorrow - :>(

Guilt made me fix it - it's smaller, quicker and you shouldn't have any problems opening and playing - and this IS the opening - for better or worse.

Looking forward to seeing your grin at NAB, Vic. You better be working on those presentations too. :-)
For those interested, Victor Milt will be presenting several classes at the NAB Post Production Conference at NAB. (assuming he's working on his classe. :-) )
I'm working on mine.

Funny you should ask.....I may have found another venue for my "model movies."

The pub I visit asked if I could make a "video loop" of some interesting motion graphics that they could put on all the tv monitors in the big lounge area. Something that they could play on the weekend nights while the DJ was spinning music.

Once he said that, I knew exactly what he wanted and I produced a two hour tape ( yes tape ) for him. They loved it. A nice dinner and a bar tab later, love the barter system, they said how people couldn't stop watching it. I overlayed some of my girls onto the videos and I must say, it looks pretty cool. Nice to not worry about sound either.

Could be a new venture for me, video loops for local night clubs and DJ......too be continued.

I would be watching it very intently on one just little peek of you know what, especially after a few guinesses.

Good to read that most of you are hard at work. I'm at the seaside, in hot-sunny weather and competing in sail-racing most days. Had to do this since Christmas and will be getting back to editing in February.

A couple of projects for a learning skills remediation/development company, and scripting for a video series I've been wanting to produce for a couple of years. Also writing a review of Vegas for Audiomidi.com.

Early discussions for the scripting, filming and editing of a golf video and infomercial.

Just completed compiling TV spots for one of my consulting clients last week (also has a current infomercial).

Just finished a World War II montage video for the father of the graphic design firm I subcontract with.

Am waiting for previous videos samples and presentation to arrive so we can get started with a "How to" video for high-tech marketing. Will be a 4 part series.

Plus... the day job - consuling at chanimal.com.

In the initial stages of scripting a freediving training DVD where I'll be shooting footage underwater while freediving myself. Shooting is scheduled to begin in March - with post work to be completed by mid April and final DVD for sale by May...

Am also revamping UWDV.COM to be more efficient with a better Content Management System. In between, writing dive related articles for Northwest Dive News as well as trying to syndicate to other magazines as well...

Well looks like I got a shoot late in the weekend. Got called in to shoot Vancouver's Miss Teen Universe 2006. Fun event. Standard stuff. And 5 blocks from home so that was good. Made some nice contacts here in the Vancouver Fashion industry.

The other shooter they hired had a tricked out Pana DX100. Man what a sweet looking camera. Gotta get my models in front of something like that someday.

Well, hope everyone had a good weekend. Take Care....

Well, just shot a weeding this weekend, so will start editing that, just finished 2 plays, and have to edit a dance recital as well. I also just got hired to produce demos, for a local builder to show their model homes, and make DVD's for them to hand out to their customers.

hmm - 3 chip would make a big jump for ya - (I'm suprised that you don't have something that's 3 chip (GL2 or something like that). They're not too pricey and can get you a pretty good improvement in quality - I suggest 1/3" chips or better - but it's not necessary, especially with enough light - the differences only really show in low light situations where the noise is accentuated, unless you're able to discern the horizontal rez of the chip - but you gotta have a pretty decent display for that).

I just finished a wedding shoot and currently I have been playing/learning the Sony A1 so I can integrate it into my workflow. John Meyer has a good workflow that saved me a lot of calculations/headaches, so I have been experimenting with that. I am going to be working on a highlight reel for a local University soon... and this is just my side job!
I also will be attending the 100 camera wedding shoot in Sacramento. I look foward to meeting everyone who will be there, especially those on the board. Who all is going to this?
