I wouldn’t even guess what the bug might be, but I would mute everything but this...

... and “Render to New Track” using a lossless intermediate and replace it after saving to a new project name.

Divide and conquer!

Not sure the cause, but red screen means there's something going wrong with the GPU.

Any version of Vegas in the last 5 years should handle your XAVC like butter. The media isn't your problem.

RogerS wrote on 5/31/2024, 12:00 AM

My guess is it's a bug with adjustment events- with NVIDIA I have also seen red screens and failed renders.

I thing going back to 208 is generally a good idea as it was the most polished version I have used of VEGAS. 21.300-315 still has unfinished areas.

John-Ivar wrote on 5/31/2024, 2:39 AM

I've had the same issue as you @iEmby. @RogerS is right, it's most likely connected to the long adjustment event. Removing the adjustment event and migrating all FX and parameters over to events or tracks solved this for me.

@iEmby Sorry I can't really help with this, totally different PC to yours but as mentioned - Adjustment events. I have a love hate relationship with them, love how they work but hey do slow playback & have crashed my Vegas a few times just on the simplest of projects with one or two of them added, I now don't trust them & as @John-Ivar mentions I find an alternative option putting the fx on the event or the track.

ok lets try this for now. Atleast it will prevent me from shifting 21 > 20 > 21. I have to forget that VEGAS has adjustment event feature for sometimes may be. I hope 22version will be new birth of Adjustment Events.
