I don't know, good price but....
almost not worth it. Most software manufactures that are going 64bit, (and there aren't many yet) are moving ahead to Vista 64 and not officially recognizing XP 64.

I know that Avid/Pinnacle has outright stated that XP64 will not be considered for future software.

XP64 is dying. There just never was the hardware support for it. Vista64 has already overtaken the amount. Out of interest, XP64 was built on server code, not XP code. Explains why it was so stable.

Vista shares a lot of code with server 2008. Very much enjoying Vista SP1 too :) To date, in Vista64. 1 application failure - FDM trying to access kernel when it shouldn't, so Vista killed it to be safe (OS has been running for months)

I know it's not perfect for everyone, but it really isn't THAT bad...

I wouldn't rule out x64 XP Pro - It has been absolutely rock solid for me and the only thing that hasn't worked is the Epson 880 color printer that is on my network - but there aren't Vista drivers for it either (although I imagine they are integrated). If you want more than 3GB of RAM seen, I prefer it over the bloatware that is Vista. There are utilities that are native 64bit that work very well, even AV, Firewall, zip, cd/dvd burning - all freeware.

I have a sneaking suspicion that 64bit Vegas Pro will be backwards compatible since .NET 3.0 is available for x64 XP Pro.

The big question to me is: will 64 bit Vegas work with it? If it does, I am happy with running 32 bit versions of everything else.

I agree with Kenny. I' sticking with XP pro for now, but soon jumping to Vista64. But will have an XP machine doing other things until all of the software I use converts over.

I'm running XP Pro x64.

On the hardware side my 2 x Epson R210 printers don't run on it but I'm throwing them out now and getting a 2nd Canon ip4300 anyway. Finding a webcam for it is a nightmare. After about 4 tries I got a Creative Video Pro VF0230 (or something like that) working under a beta driver.

On the software side I can't make any Dreamweaver more recent than MX2004 run on it. Had a few problems with Quicktime browser plug-ins too but that seems to be better since a Quicktime update last week.

Vegas runs great on it. If you've got 4GB RAM and want it all seen by your apps then this does seem like a good deal.
