for the past 2 weeks i have been trying to learn what i can to make a version of submachine which is a premiere plugin work for vegas i know how to make this work i have a pipeline for it to work its possible i just need someone to help with the coding because i am not savy in coding but i know how this can bassically be 2 to 3 buttons and every user in vegas would love it i will explain here what i want to do so anyone who wants to work on this can about a week ago i figured we can use a depreciated part of vegas to auto cut out words from the protype titler in vegas and then counting the characters we can then decide words percentages on the titler and get rid of them its a bit complicated but i believe if anyone wants to sit down and work through it on discord we can make a really solid script for a big percentage of vegas users if anyone is semi interested i have a few more ideas that i can better elaborate over discord in a call please feel free to message me i wanna make vegas more popular in the editing space vegas isnt outdated its just not being used to its fullest extent

Auto Captions for Vegas has the "Word by Word" and "Highlight Active Word" features, similar to SubMachine.

Word by Word feature

Highlight Active Word feature

With the right learning curve, the user can achieve results similar to or even surpassing those of the Submachine. Here’s a small example I created using the transcription tools of Auto Captions and animating the subtitles in Aegisub.

this looks very interesting i will have to look into it and test it out to see if i get the results i am looking for but from the videos you sent me it looks like there is no control over the text and titles media in vegas and they just come out as videos but i will have to see i will respond in a few hours again after i have played around with the plugin to see if its what i need im also surprised i've not heard of this plugin before thank you very much!!!

after messing with this software its not the solution i can see how it could be used to help with the solution however the whole point is to be able to have full control over the text itself so i can animate the words individually using effect and having the words already timed and masked properly and there is no way that i can have the words individually pop in because this software can only time individual words and it will have a new piece of text pop up for each new word its good but not what is needed unless im not understanding something i do wonder how you had made that effect in the thunderstruck video did you have to time when the word leaves by hand? or is that part of the software because then maybe it can work idk i have messed around with the software for about 3 hours now trying to get it to work the way i want but i can only get it to put these <u> </u> between the current word and the rest of the other words are still visible and there arent tracks above or below that will hold the other words in place automatically sorry if my spelling is bad i have adhd and i struggle forming sentences sometimes but i think i showed the results im looking for in the video i posted when i played the video and that how i want it to apear on the the tiimeline thank you! so i will continue to look for the solution until then because i dont believe this is it but its a cool piece of software!

The Auto Captions for Vegas was not designed to create subtitle animations like SubMachine. As the name suggests, it was designed to transcribe audio and automatically generate subtitles. The Word by Word and Highlight Active Words functions are just additional features. The subtitle animation in the Thunderstruck video was created in Aegisub after transcribing the audio using Auto Captions for Vegas.

it seems like your have everything in that auto captions software to make it happen its so close to what i want if only it could just have words pop in one at a time on the timeline just making the other text invisible or something like i showed in the video using protype titler im trying to make this a reality because it would make making subtitles in a video very easy and very cool because you could just drop your effects onto the text of each one of them and bam you can make your own custom animations using auto captions im gonna hope someone else comes along and can help i really appreciate the software i will let some of my other vegas friends know about the software maybe it will be of more value to them

@yugo-hughes

I think I understand what you need. Maybe I'll work on this when I have time and release it in a future update. Check out the video below showing one of the possibilities.

i think i get whats going on here its using text and setting the opacity to be see through and then using the advanced tab to crop the background text this is a cool effect still not what im describing if you would like i can make another video explaining what i want to happen i have spent the past 2 days just arguing with chat gpt to help me create the script but its being really difficult i want each word to come up one at a time but to form the whole sentence

The previous effect was just an example. The possibilities and variations are numerous, depending on each person's creativity. I think this video is closer to what you need.

If Protype Titler hadn’t been discontinued, everything would be simpler and the possibilities would be much greater.

this effect is cool but its not what i want because i want to be able to drop a preset onto the text and have control over each piece of text instead of the way you have it here if i drop a preset i made onto the text it will effect all of the text coming onto the screen and i only want it to effect one word but this is a cool effect i think what needs to happen is rather complicated it needs to make one srt file that has 1 word at a time then you would select how many words you want on screen at once for example we say 3 so it would have an to make 3 srt files that i have shown an example of at around the 1 minute mark in this video

they would essentially make 3 layers and only show the word that would be on that layer which is really hard to code as protype titler isnt really known much about but another post i made someone figured out how to turn text and titles into pro type titler so maybe you can use his stuff to help?
