YouTube recommendation... H.264 + MP3... possible?

I'm revisiting the format I use for uploading to YouTube, Facebook etc. since Facebook always encode my Nero AAC audio at the wrong speed.

The recommended formats for uploading video to YouTube are here:

http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=132460

Specifically:

video codec: H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 preferred
audio codec: MP3 or AAC preferred
container: MPEGTS (MPEG2 transport stream)

Is it actually possible to put H.264 video and MP3 audio into an MPEGTS container, or in fact any container? If so, how?

Thanks

Nick,
Some pocket cameras actually record in this combination, so uploading to YouTube is probably possible. A quick check shows that MP3 audio is allowed under Part 14.

Now, as to rendering that way -- never tried it, but Super by eRightSoft might. The new version also writes h264 FLV, a big step forward.

Nick, now how's this for a quick answer? You can encode h264 with mp3 audio using the AVI container. Works in Super, also Handbrake. "Should" work in meGUI since it uses the same libs. Even works in Vegas with the x264vfw codec (from SourceForge) installed. However in Vegas, the sizing is kludgy and I haven't figured it out yet (just started playing with it yesterday).

Thanks Musicvid, that's well worth knowing.

Yesterday I set up some Nero AAC test cases for a guy on Doom9 who knows the Facebook video people and lo and behold it's fixed.

So what I'm doing now is using the Nero AAC:-LC-MultiChannel-192Kbps template in MeGUI and continuing to upload in an MP4 container.

I used that x264vfw codec for a while but I used it in Virtualdub, not Vegas so that I could do a Lanczos3 resize etc..
