RE: Speech to text usage - worth it?
@CosmicOutpost In V19 if you go to Tools/Multicam/Synchronize Audio to Align Events; this is the function. I previously didn't have the need to synch audio but I decided to test this feature. Unfortunately, I was not able to get it to work. And as

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
I measure dramatically lower quality transcoding to hevc with Resolve, no matter what encoder I use including the Voukoder plugin. And the best transcode quality from ffmpeg x265, with Vegas MainConcept Hevc not far behind. With vp22, which is

RE: Please FIX - 4k Proxy and Preview Half vs Full in 1080p project
@VEGASDerek oh wow. I didn't even notice how old this thread was! Someone posted a link to this thread in response to a more recent forum post.. seemed so relevant that I just figured it was a current discussion. Oops! Glad to hear there's headway

RE: Lock position of clips but still be able to split and trim.
Of course, this workflow only works correctly, if every media is used only once on the timeline or all events using one media are not shifted in time, And there's the snag for me! I typically shoot a performance with two cameras (sometimes three)

RE: Lock position of clips but still be able to split and trim.
Locking just the position of events would be great. I always miss that when editing multicam footage. I switched to use timecode on all recordings, to always have a consistent timing for audio and video, but when I started with multicam, I aligned

RE: Is there easy way to cut overlapping clips from different tracks
Yes sir, I've considered doing that however these edits are so very basic and I effectively make 90% of my cuts in cam with how I shoot. Basically once I sync with Syncaila and import the XML into Vegas as long as my A cam is the top track it's just

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
@johnny-s Thanks, that's great. Looks like the Nvidia & Amd are pretty similar in quality for the input used. Lossless input better represents how good they get. Users have been finding Intel av1-svt showing anomalies for some material so I'm a

RE: VEGAS Pro 22 Build 194 General Discussion
I finally took the bullet and installed VEGAS Pro 22 after so many crashes, freezes and hangs of VEGAS Pro 20, and the result was literally night and day. To be honest, I almost ditched VEGAS Pro in its entirety (I am a 10+ year user of the VEGAS

RE: Changing proxy format to speed up Proxy Building in Vegas 22
I don't have to use a proxy anymore because the Uhd770 accelerates my videos. But it used to annoy me a lot. For me it's more than three years ago that I regularly used proxies to edit 4k footage on me previous and ancient PC. Never had a problem

RE: Vegas pro 21 & 22 Intel Arc Gpu Problem
I'm sticking with vp21 b208 when I need the benefits of video-prefs set to one gpu and i/o set to decode with a different gpu. Vegas is still overhauling and upgrading vp22 internals. So for now, vp22 is only optimal if you set i/o to auto in which

RE: Is there a way to do pan and crop at the media level?
I have edited a long video of 4 cameras. I realize now that one of the cameras was 1 degree tilted. I can use pan and crop to fix the one event. But I would like to do it at the media level. I don't see any way. The only two ways I see are 1. Find

RE: Running TWO versions of VEGAS PRO on same computer
Does anyone know what version of Vegas Pro 21 has no bugs? @t-keats In my projects which employ hd422 mxf, I needed to use build 108. Build 208 was otherwise the quickest rendering larger projects with 4k hevc. Build 315 fixed some things but took a

RE: [Closed] Help me buy my new PC : please render this 1-minute project on yours!
@KKS Around 1.5 minutes on my systems at 100% cpu vrs 12 minutes on yours at 75%, even if I use nothing but my igpu. A better cpu should help you quite a bit. I agree with @RogerS that something else in your system is making trouble... you might

A truly incredible review by Rob Svm on the FB Vegas Editors group.
I will always stay with Vegas. I was editing a weekly TV show with it for 5 years and was doing it in 4k when the other producers only rendered in 2k. I bought every Vegas pro version (since v6) because it is the most logical workflow that stacks up

Here is what one developer requests for helping improve this tool in one of the many threads about it. A power user contacted us and provided us with a large library of multicam projects, some of which worked but some of which did NOT. This helped

RE: Intel's new B580 Battlemage GPU
@Richvideo I don't have a 2080 but do have a 1660ti which has the same decoding silicon. When testing an Intel a380 and a770, decoding performance was about the same as the 1660ti. While for general usage, the a770 was by far the smoothest of all

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
If you're doing ongoing render speed comparisons with Resolve you have to keep in mind Resolve uses both your 4090 encoders while Vegas and Voukoder currently only use the 1. You'd have to force single encoder via your choice of encode or resolution

RE: Vegas Pro 21 Crashes
The main way to avoid software crashes is to give VEGAS media that's easy to edit. Constant framerate AVC from cameras is usually fine and works well with VEGAS's GPU decoding on modern GPUs. ProRes also works great assuming a CPU and hard drive

RE: Vegas Pro 22 AI Fx SUPER slow to render
@Sean-Lester AI Upscales over 1.1x seem to always be increasingly gpu intensive as the scale goes up. Doing that to an fhd clip as an Event FX in a 4k project is a 2x upscale, even without any cropping. Only way I know to speed it up there is to use

RE: Changing proxy format to speed up Proxy Building in Vegas 22
... Works best for me (for marker frame-alignment) with manually-made proxies having the same or at least an even-division of the original frame rates. With Vegas proxies have the same amount of frames as the original, so no fear for mis-frame

RE: 10 Bit Video in Vegas Pro 22 - What Project Settings to Use?
You're leaving out the key element... At the camera's native resolution. Even if cameras did that, I don't see how it would help. If a 6k or 8k sensor only captures 2 elements per pixel, which they all do, the missing elements would still need to be

RE: AMD vs NVIDIA !! Which one is best for VEGAS?
In the past I've always gotten best Vegas performance from Amd gpus coupled with Intel igpus or a 2nd gpu like an Intel Arc. I still get better performance from Amd gpus with vp21 build 300+ but overall performance is much lower because it now
