RE: New system i9-11900 with RTX 3080 all is well.
The buzz on the Adler Lake is that it is faster than AMD 5950... Yes & Windows 11 has a redesigned thread scheduler to maximize Alder Lake's architecture so hopefully demanding Apps, like NLEs, will get the resources they need to perform better

RE: Best setup for hard drives on new 11900 system?
...Big differences copying projects and media but not so much rendering... I need fast storage because I copy a LOT of large 4K intermediates across my 10G network so I can edit on my 9900K system, render on my 11700K & send backups to my QNAP

RE: Vegas 19 - Playback slows even when GPU and CPU not maxed out
@Former user, I'd love to be able to play 4K back smoothly🤤 @RogerS, yeah, it seems like a very common format, so it seems like support should be less of an issue. Still, perhaps my hardware is just out of date. @Former user, I think I tried

RE: Project files for different versions of Vegas Pro
@gary-o, ...it's more lucrative to force everyone to upgrade to the latest version and not settle comfortably with a previous (and often more stable) version. I wish I didn't have to say it, but such cynical reasoning does not factor into our

RE: Refund for Movie Studio 18
@K_T let's see.... Premiere is subscription, Resolve has high hardware requirements and a steep learning curve.... or you could have upgraded to Vegas Pro.....which would still cost you less than either Premiere or Resolve Studio. Oh, the free

Dear vkmast, I edited the post and changed "Sony" Vegas to Vegas. I didn't want to offense anyone here.. You gave the link for the Hardware specifications for Vegas Pro 19. If I correctly understood them then my laptop is just right good enough

RE: 18.0 is slower since popup windows prompting to update to 19.0
We do not sabotage our software to urge people to buy upgrades. Something else is likely wrong. Please post information about the media you are using and the format you are rendering to. I also knowing a little bit about your hardware would be handy.

RE: Vegas Pro 19 Not Recognizing 10 Bit / 4:2:2 (.MOV / H.264) Files
Thank you all for your help. I have tried all suggested ways given here on this post and through them I believe the problem is my outdated graphics card. According to the Vegas Pro help section, hardware decoding works only when the right hardware

Vegas Pro Versions 16 or 18?
OS: Windows 10 20H2(2009) Hardware: Asus MB, Intel i9, Nvidia RTX series, 32 GB RAM Software I have: Vegas Pro 9, Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum (Vegas Movie Studio series, now EOL) As a user of Vegas Products, I see that I can upgrade to VP18

RE: Do you think without movie studio Pro is now condemed to a slow death?
Quite the opposite, it should free up resources to modernize Pro and help it build market share. Once you're in, the upgrade costs aren't so bad. There is still a place for a non-subscription based relatively user and non-bleeding edge hardware

RE: Decoding/Encoding... hardware or software
Intel: Decode with Hardware. Encode with Software unless you have an Xe/Xe Max system. QSV has remained largely unchanged for several generations. I think the newer Xe/Xe Max systems is the first time this has been upgraded in any decent way in

Back to the topic at hand. I have Vegas Pro. And from reading the Pro forums, it looks like VP will be around a while longer. At least VP19, which gives you another year of using a Vegas product. As posted above, VMS 17 works and will most likely

RE: Vegas 18 Pro (Build 527 is not rendering with GPU / Nvidia GTX1660
For hardware decoding I'd recommend Intel and not NVIDIA even if you have a good NVIDIA card. @RogerS My reply is based on trouble-shooting a problem, not performance. I have had numerous reports on my own forum, about rendering not working

RE: Vegas Pro seems great, but I'm ready to throw my PC out the window!
Sorry, these issues have nothing to do with the Vegas app itself. Vegas actually runs without any issues—it's Windows' OS that doesn't seem to be cooperating. The thread is really just me wondering out loud if I should abandon the platform
