VegasPro18 playback issues after rendering as MP4
I've recently upgraded to Pro 18 from Studio Platinum16. The problem I'm having is that after rendering to MP4, the resultant files freeze during playback. That is to say, using VLC media player, the video keeps playing in that the progress bar

RE: MULTIPLE CRASHING AND BUGS WITH Vegas 18 BUILD 373
If I can give one piece of advice it is not to upgrade hardware for stability. You don't need to do that and it probably won't work based on people's posts about upgrading ram and GPUs. I'm also on a i7-7700 laptop with GTX 1050, which is powerful

    RE: Vegas Pro Vs Resolve
I still use vegas pro studio 16 but due to the constant spam and emails and exorbitant upgrade prices i finally moved to resolve 16 and now beta 17 after years and years of using vegas from way back in earlier versions with sony. i've paid

MULTIPLE CRASHING AND BUGS WITH Vegas 18 BUILD 373
Since I bought Vegas 15, I have had endless crashes, bugs, of every kind. I went to an AMD (from Intel) build and I noted "less". But still present. I always use Nvidia cards. Laptop is Intel I7 7700, 32GB ram, M.2 Samsung SSD + Samsung SSHD. G

RE: Painfully Slow High Definition Rendering..
You don't have any sort of hardware encoding on your computer, you wouldn't benefit, you're using a very slow AMD cpu with incorporated gpu back in the day when Ryzen made bad cpu's. You would benefit greatly from a new computer Thank you for your

@j-v sorry, I was not specifically point to Resolve, but the wording in the Applications part saying the Studio drivers provide optimum support for the latest creative applications..... meaning, is it the Studio drivers or the creative applications,

    RE: RTX 3000 series support.
@TheRhino With Vegas Pro, I didn't get hardware decode of the timeline with my RX480 until three years (and four numbered releases of Vegas Pro) into my four year upgrade cycle. That wasn't an AMD problem. Before I built the last system, I put the

    RE: RTX 3000 series support.
there is no way to turn on hardware decoding etc, or that there is even an option with the driver update even though I went to nvidia after installing and installing the latest drivers. I am getting 3fps renders nvenc and mainconcept (pretty sure

    RE: RTX 3000 series support.
I think it took a while for Vegas to support the AMD 5700 XT, so maybe the same is true for the new Nvidia cards. Once the mid-range 5700 XT was supported, it provided speeds close to AMD's previous flagships like the Radeon 7 & my VEGA 64 LQ.

RE: How do I speed up rendering?
You'll need to upgrade from your current PC-XT to something from this decade.   Seriously, we need a lot more information on your hardware, video source and what render target you're using.

RE: Time to upgrade my Graphics Card
@Jacques-Brassard Do you have a File-I/O tab in Preferences for Vegas 16? GPU Decode/Encode usage looks low, but since I don't have Vegas Pro 16, so I can't advise you on settings. I think the settings methodology even changed from 17 to 18. At

RE: CPU or GPU for playback preview?
@Justin-Beaton Do you plan to run a laptop or Small Form Factor PC? The i7-10850H is hardly a workstation class CPU with a Total Design Power of 45 Watts. You didn't state what hardware you are running prior to the new build, but in your situation,

RE: CPU or GPU for playback preview?
I'd upgrade Vegas along with the build.GPUs are replaceable over the life of the system whereas the CPU/motherboard is not generally. All these options you are listed are new and high-end, so upgrading from one to another is likely going to give

Have you upgraded to version 373? It should not allow you to load the HEVC by default This is 373.2 latest update. latest nvidia Studio drivers. latest Win10. I know it shouldn't load. And it doesn't with the HEVC 4:2:2. But the 4:2:0 crashes. And

Hi Dexcon, I find that AC3 only works up to VP16 for me, all .M2TS Sony footage from all our cameras, on the time line shows the tracks but does not play the sound hence not really practical to edit. I have to edit on VP16 suite which works but very

@walter-i.On desktop I have almost the same hardware as you, I don't see what you write here. No problem there. After the upgrade to VPro 18 I had to change a lot of the settings that were needed for me in VPro 17, resulting for the two settings you

    Video Card Upgrade?
With respect to VP 18 Pro and my particular hardware setup, Magix hinted that a 1660 card may help me. So I have had my eye on the ASUS GeForce GTX 1660 Super Overclocked 6GB Dual-fan EVO Edition VR Ready HDMI DisplayPort DVI Graphics Card

RE: Vegas Pro 18 EXCEEDING my expectations (so far)...
I've been using Vegas since 3.0 for paid work. Last week I edited over 15 hours of 4K video for paying clients using the last update of V18 & did not have one single crash. Not one! So happy! Also, when I rendered-out the final client videos, I

RE: Could you give me a good reason to buy version 18?
Yes. That is the best answer. Personally, I have found 18 to be more stable and have much better hardware playback acceleration, so that is most definitely worth the upgrade fee... regardless of the solid list of improvements and added

RE: nvenc only (uses)optimised 20% when i render my 720p video to 4k
Not to worry. I upgrade on the calendar. Right now, I have an AMD Ryzen 5950X and potentially, whatever video adapter AMD announces later this month as placeholders for my upgrade in Q1, 2021. Between hardware refreshes, I usually don't
