  The diminishing performance with increasing cuts points to problems with decode. Some video formats are harder to "seek" to specific times. Best to post a mediainfo report on a typical file and then solicit recommendations. Roger dodger.

  And the link https://we.tl/t-U17WpEB0iP Here I see one new video which is a mp4. It just looks like regular AVC in a MP4 container however it's variable framerate which can also cause problems in VEGAS (not just 21, all versions). Let me experiment
