  This is probably caused by the downscaling+interlacing of 2160p50 to 1080i50 and not a result of Vegas not able to edit Gopro8 footage. For the preview problem, use proxies instead of the HEVC originals.

  +1 @3POINT  ... I have a GoPro Hero 8 Black (which is much better than the 5) and record in 4K but finalise in HD (BD). There's little need for stabilisation, and even the minimum wide angle option removes the need to carry the wide angle add-on

  Now i rendered another project using GOPRO footage... .and it turned out a lot darker and red?! I had the exact same settings as my other projects (Using AVC files from a Panasonic video camera).

  @Liberty610 Another thing to try is enabling Legacy AVC or HEVC decoding depending upon what type of recording you are doing. The so4compoundplug.dll has had a checkered history of properly decoding GoPro files, especially maintaining audio sync.
