RE: Optimization tips/tricks for editing 4k on Movie Studio 16 Platinum ?
Editing a 45 min file from a GoPro. 4k at 30fps. The build proxy took a lot longer than 1080p. Normal? It should not be needed for hardware that meets the specs for the program to use proxies for FHD, maybe a little for UHD or 4K.When using

RE: Vegas Pro 18 EXCEEDING my expectations (so far)...
Following the instructions and the Helpfile option of VP18 the latest Studio Nvidia driver is 456.38. Works with me excellent on laptop, also with 4K AVC DJI and 4K HEVC GOPro files, unless everything in the settings of Video Acceleration and File

Optimization tips/tricks for editing 4k on Movie Studio 16 Platinum ?
Editing a 45 min file from a GoPro. 4k at 30fps. The build proxy took a lot longer than 1080p. Normal? Like 20 mins for only 45 mins of footage.Next time, I will delete the LRV files before adding the files to the project. To save disk space, I

Preview of video stutters and ruins guitar input
Sony Vegas 17 ProVersion 17.0 (Build 179)I went to record a 12-string guitar track onto a video. Nothing special, just some strumming. The video preview has always been jagged, I took a chance and figured any overdubbed guitar would be passable.

RE: Vegas Pro 17, using all my memory and sticking around.
Just to circle back, could you just try first with known good DSLR AVC files? DJI and GoPro are known to cause some problems. Here's a short clip (50MB) from me to play with. If it's too short I can supply something else. I am using VP 18 334 with

RE: Vegas Pro 17, using all my memory and sticking around.
So, a little update, thank you for continuing to reply and trying to help me. From the above, the driver was already up to date but I did do another update just to be safe. Turned off GPU acceleration and the screen still goes black. Turned GPU back

Thank you. (You can upload images directly to the forum as well using the "upload file" icon). Are you on the latest NVIDIA Studio Drivers? Under Vegas there is a driver update tool, or you can use GeForce Experience or the NVIDIA website. Don't

RE: Vegas Pro 17, using all my memory and sticking around.
Thanks for the reply, so to add, the files are from a GoPro Hero8 Black, GoPro Hero4 Silver and GoPro Hero Session. Files from my Nikon DSLRs do the exact same thing and files from my DJI drones also do. I honestly don't think it's the files, purely

RE: HEVC media from A7SIII
At my desktop the file plays with proxies 100f/s using the legacy MXHEVC encoding in File I/O but because it changes the better SO4 plug for my own HEVC GOPRO footage I switched that back after this trial.

RE: Vegas Pro 17, using all my memory and sticking around.
Can you use MediaInfo (free app) or properties in the MPC player to say exactly what the files are? 2.7K 60 sounds like a GoPro or DJI file?Do you have any regular AVC (h.264) videos from a camera you can try just to rule out whether it's media

RE: Rendering 4k Footage coming out pixalated in sections of the video....
@Musicvid I've never seen frame rate differences cause that kind of pixelation. Can you elaborate on where you have and what you think the causes are? One reason I ask is I work with 59.9 and 29.9 gopro footage all the time and haven't seen that

earlier gopro's had a problem with the so4 reader, you could check that, if it doesn't help reverse the 'fix' https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/avc-xavc-s-issues-in-vp15-16-try-disabling-so4compoundplug-dll--108345/

Curious about the changes in VPro18 b 334
Therefore a looked first after the used plugin for viewing and playing and I saw that the 4K files from my Osmo DJI (AVC) and GoPro 7 HEVC (both 50p) and the FHD files of my smartphone used the SO4 compound plug and only FHD 50 p of my Panasonic

RE: [Resolved] Although x264vfw codec installed, still can't play file
Works OK here in V18. Here's a screengrab from VirtualDub that shows the cineform codec being used. If you can find an older version of GoPro Studio, it also installs the Cineform codec (the newer Quik versions do not). If you don't have it or
