How do you record your Flight Simulator 2020 ?

OBS or other application?

I agree with set. Your issues are more likely related to the specs of your source video. Unless you're having the same problems with a project that includes only a few photos, for instance, or the program won't even open at all.

Open your source video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the text of this report and paste it to this forum. Most likely this report will indicate what is destabilizing your video project.

I am not buying that explanation. I just started using a new camera (for the first time) with a new memory card and it is doing the same thing as videos that were taken from a smart phone. This is not an issue with the source media.

Hmmm, my signature, for one of my systems is a ThreadRipper 2950X, ROG X399-E Gaming, 64GB memory, Radeon VII, Windows 10, OS/APPS/Source are all NVME drives (separate, of course!), and I run both Vegas Pro 17 (452) and Movie Studio Platinum (204), along with DaVinci Resolve 17 (Basic or Free - however you want to call it), with no problems. And that is with keeping Dynamic Ram at default, as well as most of the other settings you hear about on the forums, that members/users do so their systems run either of the above Magix VEGAS products, in a satisfactory or above experience. Two other current systems: one approximately the same as above but using 2920X processor, the other is my original ThreadRipper 1950X on an MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC that runs Movie Studio 16 Platinum (since both Platinum 17/Vegas Pro 17 licenses are currently in use).

Oh, and I have just tested a script by one of our frequent contributors for transcoding Canon R6 C-LOG footage (which is what I only shoot in with that camera!), which worked great going from HEVC to Pro Res. Both of my GoPro Hero 9 Black(s), which I shoot in 5K with HEVC, are imported fine, with rarely creating Proxies. Both of my GoPro Hero 7 Black(s), which I shoot 4K 30p in HEVC Compression, a GoPro Hero 6 and Hero 5 Black, both in 4K 30p work fine. My Sony AX-33 and AX-53, both in 4K 30p using XAVC at 100 Mbit run fine. And lets not forget about the older Canon 80D that usually does 1080p 30 in ALL-I compression.

So, what's your beef? Because currently the only thing we know is you game using FS2020, and use MSP17. Besides that, you haven't told us, let alone shown us, anything. And to show us those settings, source material information, just look at the Forum main page where you would pick which product, and on there is a link for the required information, because I sure am not going to link it.

I'm not sure how Platinum is the very,very,very basic version.

I’ve “upgraded” from MS 15 Platinum to MS 17 Platinum last weekend and I’m also surprised how bad V17 is. First, the MOV file from my Lumix GH1 (720p/30.00) cannot be loaded without Quick Time. The same problem is with V15. When I enable “GPU acceleration of video processing” for my Nvidia GTX-960, the application crashes right away. The same problem is with V15. Additionally my videos from Lumix GH3 using “ALL-Intra FHD/30p” format are not playing properly. No matter what Preview settings I’m using. The sound is audible, but the video is mostly black screen with few frames showing from time to time. This is not happening in V15. I still have V15 installed so I can verify it instantly.

Looks like I've found a fix (work around) the All-Intra video format problem. I had to set "Enable legacy AVC decoding" in File I/O to on. Based on some reading on this forum I thing that my Nvidia GTX-960 video card is not good enough for hardware AVC decoding because it only has 2 GB of RAM. It doesn’t really matter that my rig has 64 GB of RAM though.

I have tried installing, uninstalling and reinstalling MS Platinum 17, build 204. I have also tried with a fresh installation of Windows 10. The same thing happens every time, I get an error message that says "unable to read video stream". I am sure this is something to do with my NewBlue Titler Pro 7 app, however, I have no problem using MS Platinum version 15 or 16. Everything works perfectly with these older versions. I will stay with the older versions until MS Platinum version 17 is proven to work correctly, or we have a new version that does.
