RE: VEGAS PRO v FCPX: Anybody had experience?
Nothing is going to edit X-AVC S smoothly. SVP13 has no issue with editing a single stream on my system. The only drop in fps is during transitions. If I need to transcode my 4K footage to make it smooth for editing, I must well transcode XAVC-S to

RE: VEGAS PRO v FCPX: Anybody had experience?
The main reason I haven't really jumped into it yet is hardware. To edit 4K natively you need a MacPro and those are expensive and not upgradeable like the previous generation. The "old" MacPro is now really getting old. I tried to turn my hardware

RE: Reason to Upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 14?
Yes the multicam is well executed if you need it. You've got split screen to view effects and clean. But for me, its the changes int the workspace. It is much better organised than on 12 or 13, the tools are more readily to hand , player controls

RE: Reason to Upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 14?
For one thing, VMS 14 now has the multicam feature (4 cameras max), previously only in Pro (more than 4 cameras). However, Dr Zen has a tutorial on how to do it in previous VMS versions. It remains to be seen, but VMS 14 is almost brand new, and

RE: VEGAS Movie Studio 14 out now!
I downloaded and installed the suite upgrade on 2/22/17 and my initial response is BRAVO!I own ver 11 and ver 13. Both were installed, but I never used 13 with its "Fisher-Price" GUI and have happily used 11 for years. Apparently Magix listened! As

RE: My problems with Movie Studio 14 Pl build 105
For your multicam problem: You first have to select "Create Multicam-Track". And this again only works if you selected the involved video tracks only, without the audio tracks.

Can the R9 390x play 6 HD1080 60fps tracks at Best Full in multicam edit smoothly? And it won't crash with Sony's .mp4 render?

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
@Old Smoke: Somehow I managed to accidentally lose audio/video sync during my marathon edit sessions. So I ran Plural Eyes again. I wasn't sure how it would behave in multicam mode, but I crossed my fingers. I think it succesfully sync'ed the hi-Q

It think it's not the track which is muted but the event itself. Right-click the event and see if muting is selected under "Switches". When you expand to multiple tracks after multicam editing there will be a choice where you'd be asked whether or

I tried multicam, and it is definitely the way to go. I scrapped the previous work and started over, but still saved time overall. So thanks Nick & Old Smoke for the suggestion. I used Plural Eyes to sync up cam1, cam2, and hq audio before going

RE: V14 free if I buy v13?
The "buy MSP 13 + get 14 free" special offer which was extended a couple of times is not valid any more AFAIK. So I don't think you'd get v.14 free, if you buy v.13 now. This article should give you a good idea of the differences between MSP and

I apply NV once I am done with all the editing. I render an intermediate XAVC-I file, check if that is ok and only apply once NV to the whole final file. This way, you don't have to render sections of a clip that you are not using therefore further

Teaktart, Vegas is already pushing the envelope on buffers for many users' systems including mine. One wouldn't necessarily find the process fun or productive even if there were expanded editing features on the multicam track. In a single-machine

@altervic. Not sure, I think it does retain the cuts and you are asked if you would like to keep the muted portions of the video event or not. I don't think it will restore the full video clips length per camera like you had before you created the

RE: 2-camera shoot, 4K and HD, in Vegas Pro
I'd hate to lose pan/crop. You don't lose it, you just have to reapply/apply it on every event you need it. If you need to correct a tilt over the whole media, it will be easier to apply the pan/crop before you make the multicam track, render it to

"Can you elaborate on pan/crop? I use it extensively as a virtual cinematographer for my unmanned 4K camera. I'd hate to lose pan/crop" When you switch to Multicam editing, any effects you have applied at the track or event level will be removed.

Thanks, OldSmoke. It's good too get your insight. I'm glad to hear that multicam is effective for a 2-camera shoot. I'll dig deeper into it. Can you elaborate on pan/crop? I use it extensively as a virtual cinematographer for my unmanned 4K camera.
