Red screens, mem errors, crashing - frustration
Rather than just contribute to other threads regarding similar problems, I thought I'd log my own thread here to my specific issues. I'm getting frustrated as I've tried pretty much everything I could think of (including lots of advice I've found

Rob Franks said: It USED to be $5000 and they've slashed the price in 1/2 and added a bunch of 3rd party plugins. That right there should tell you something about Avid's state and situation. That's called becoming price competitive in the market -

RE: Vegas 9c - Up top!
I thought it was a decent update, but one of the items listed was quite surprising (in the middle of the list). * Added UMID reading for XDCAM EX (MP4). * Improvements to XDCAM (MXF), HDV, and AVCHD readers and writers. * Fixed an issue

RE: OT: Fifth MSU MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Video Codec Compari
I solved my program. Turns out the Debugmode installer had a bug :-) In the directory C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 9.0 there is a file called "Release.fio2007-config" which is a plain text file listing the file-i/o plugins and their locations.

    RE: Crash on render, still
Guess I'm talking to myself here, but with the 2 new GB of RAM, my MP2 render went to about 84% and died right in front of my eyes as I was watching Task Manager showing a nice even 50% - 57% CPU usage and Page file at a flat 1.4 GB. So I got 0.8
