Well, I sure hope there's more emails to come - one just arrived to my registered address (VP7-9), with a link inviting me to purchase download at US$599.95. Good grief! Link at "My Software" still offers upgrade at US$239.95.

No mention in the email that the included Free Plugin (Particle Illusion) is not exactly 'free' though; that would seem to contravene the Trade Practices Act in this country.

Kevin,

I have used email to contact SCS with the request to refund the difference, but it's not been answered.

Has anyone succeeded in a similar situation using email rather than phone call (it'd be very expensive from Poland)?

Piotr,

Perhaps you can figure out how to make a VOIP phone call over the Internet? I would hope that your email will be answered within a day.

Didn't work for me. I got as far as asking for my credit card, but still the $239.95.

I'll wait for support to get back to me.

i looked for that email yesterday, but it came not through, i know I should receive the newsletters as I was refreshing to receive the newsletter weeks ago as I was not receiving a newsletter in months...

How can we who did not get the promo-code, buy the upgrade at that neat upgrade pricing to upgrade my current Version 8 ?
Tewt wrote on 10/12/2010, 3:16 AM
Looks like you should back up any freebies? I chose the Sound Effects and lists 3 download attempts unlike the unlimited for Vegas.

Great deal btw. Thanks Sony!!!

Wow! Didn't get the e-mail yet, special price didn't show up on my account page under upgrades so called customer service. Total order time took less than 3 minutes including dialing in. Packaged version is on it's way at the $149.00 price. Superb!

I was one of those who jumped early and paid the extra $100. Sent a quick support request in and bingo! they've credited me with the difference. All that needs to be resolved is the bonus offer.

Cheers

Just got the upgrade tonight. I picked Sony Pictures Sound Effects Vol. 1-5 as the freebie. Very good deal this year.
FilmingPhotoGuy wrote on 10/13/2010, 12:22 PM
Yea I jumped in early and would like a $100 rebate.

@Im.away: what email address did you use to send to "Support Request"?
Don Sweger wrote on 10/13/2010, 12:42 PM
Well it doesn't matter which browser I use, I can't see the upgrade pricing, whether I'm logged in or not. All my versions from 7 on up are registered in my profile.

Haven't received any e-mail either....

Starting to feel slighted.
kkolbo wrote on 10/13/2010, 12:57 PM
@don

Did you try going to Facebook and the Sony Software page? The link there with the promo code should work for you.
Don Sweger wrote on 10/13/2010, 1:40 PM
Tried several Sony and sony creative software FB pages. No good links and promo codes for me..... :(
Guess I'll call Cust Svc. later today.
Harold Brown wrote on 10/13/2010, 7:01 PM
No email. None of the links gives me the discounted promo price. Checked Sony Creative Software on Facebook, but can't see a link.

I probably would have asked someone to send me the link or post the link that was in their email, but that's just me.
Editguy43 wrote on 10/13/2010, 7:05 PM
I got no email, no link, no nothing but when I went to the purchase upgrade page it says $139.95 and gives me the choice of freebies. also is that price in the cart.

That didn't work for me. Once I clicked on the link in the email I received the special price and only then did following the link in the first post also work. I just checked again using IE instead of Firefox and IE showed the full price until I followed the email link then it showed the better price.
