"Can you post the screen capture of NBFx versions information?"

Which one exactly do you mean?

Anyway, not needed :-) When you go to VFX and click on the plugin, it shows at the bottom of plugin preview window, Vendor and version information. I was curious. It is not needed :-)

Here what comes up on the upgrade screen. Seem to be the full version. Strange that they don't mention it in the ads.

Sorry that is not a confirmation that these are the newest version of ColorFast and Boris 3D. To get a correct version information of a plugin, click on Video FX tab, then on the plugin on the left panel. You will see vendor and version information at the bottom of the right panel of the Video FX. I have drawn a yellow rectangle around it. I have only Trial of VP v 15 which does not come with the Borris add-ons. I was assuming that these are older version knowing Borris and NewBlueFX marketing practice to provide ancient versions to the software vendors for bundling.

Marco. wrote on 8/28/2017, 6:45 PM

But if you mean that "Version 1.0" on the right side of the botton - this is not the version of ColorFast, this is the version of the NB Filter pack (you would see same version for every FX in this filter pack) and it is not even correct. NB's own App Manager would show a different version for the same filter pack (actually even two different versions: It says "3.0" for the "Filter Family" and "5.0" for the "Filters 5 Ultimate").

There are both versions of ColorFast included and version 1 is named just "ColorFast" whereas version 2 is named "ColorFast 2".

ColorFast 2 is a solo new product, if I remember?

As far as the New Blue I'm convinced it's the latest because on the Vegas ads it says:

and on the New Blue product page Filters 5 Ultimate is the latest and lists the following as included:

As far as the Boris that could be an old version. Can anyone that bought confirm that it's the latest version and if it includes Boris Title Studio? That could put me over the edge for the upgrade. Magix? Are you listening? Throw in Sound Forge and you have a deal...

Marco. wrote on 8/28/2017, 6:51 PM

It is available both solo ($99) as well as part of the Filters 5 Ultimate pack ($299).

Oh yes, the new Filters 5 package

Definitely ColorFast 2 because it is side by side listed to ColorFast, which is version 1 and which lacks 2 of the main features of ColorFast2 (Output Correction and Region Scopes).

I did not understand, are you saying now it v1 not v2?

I would like to see the versions information for the plugins, as I posted before.... NewBLueFX had never given out the latest version to the software as a bundle. This had been a gimmick to lure the new customers, while NLE vendors advertise value $$$ for the new bundle.

Marco. wrote on 8/28/2017, 7:08 PM

But again - the bottom line of the FX windows does not show the plug-in version. This is misleading.

"I did not understand, are you saying now it v1 not v2?"

V1 lacks some of the features of V2 of ColorFast. And both versions are in that filter pack.

I am not sure why you cannot see the version information. It shows correct information for the plugin.

my upgrade price, probably based in having just upgraded to 14, is 199 for edit, 249 for pro....

FlaBob wrote on 8/28/2017, 7:29 PM

when you upgrade, does it uninstall 14 and then install 15? I have a lot of plugins that installed into vegas pro (like newblue, boris, etc..)...will i have to reinstall?

marc-s wrote on 8/28/2017, 7:33 PM

Actually I'm still on Vegas 13 and my upgrade prices are the same... If you just bought 14 I would call.

Marco. wrote on 8/28/2017, 7:34 PM

"I am not sure why you cannot see the version information. It shows correct information for the plugin."

It shows "Version 1.0" for each of the plug-ins, no matter if this is ColorFast 1 or 2.

It shows version 1 in metadata then it is version 1. I had been checking version information of plugins this way for years, and from experience, I can say it is correct, not misleading. It reads metadata from plugin binaries and report it. So, if it says 1 then both are v1. you can name the file of ColorFast 1 as ColorFast 2, but binary metadata inside plugin cannot be changed. If both says 1, then NewBlueFx gave version 1 to MAGIX.

No it does not un-install v14. After installing v15, you will have access to both versions of Vegas Pro.

I already own NBFX Filters 5 Ultimate and it includes all updated versions of filters.
Here is screen shot showing which filters are included with NBFX Filters 5 Ultimate:

Suhaib-siddiqi, don't know what your aim is. You can download the NewBlueFX Filters 5 Ultimate pack via the Vegas Pro 15 download manager to see yourself ColorFast 2 is in there.
I work with ColorFast 2 since quite a time, bought it separately (not within the Filters 5 Ultimate pack) and even there, when you install you will have both ColorFast (1) and ColorFast 2 available in Vegas Pro. I installed the Filters 5 Ultimate pack which comes with VP15 on another system yesterday and the both the ColorFast versions (1 and 2) are same as the version(s) I bought. And for both (and both my systems) the versions displayed in the FX window is 1.0. There are several FX plug-ins shown as version 1.0 in this window though they actually are not, e.g. Mercalli 4. It's nothing else than what naming convention coders used when packaging their software. And there are several examples for the version naming used in some of the NewBlueFX plug-ins are quite confusing.

No matter what that version displayed in the Vegas FX says, the ColorFast version which comes with Vegas Pro 15 is the current version of ColorFast 2 here (with ColorFast 1 additionally).

Starting from http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/ I clicked the relevant version (Edit, Pro or Suite), then UPGRADE, then after login I got these 3 upgrade offers in my cart...

Edit:

Pro:

Suite:

I don't understand and see the logic about to ask customers more money for an upgrade because they have a bought a different VP15 before (Edit - Pro - Suite), it's all the same VP Edit/Pro/Suite from 14 to 15, while already paid for the bundle/plugins in Pro/Suit...

Can someone explain this?

Being a log shooter, the 2 relevant grading workflows for me are ACES or Logarist. Seeing how this brand new VP 15 release is still only able to use less than 25% of T/L acceleration power of my GTX 1080, and of course resultant fps are still just pathetic - I'm sorry to say I'm definitely out. Even though, as for most of you guys here, Vegas has had a great sentimental value to me :( But enough is enough - even if Resolve Studio was still the $1,000 I bought it for, and VP14->VP15 upgrade price just $1 - it would be $1 too expensive for me. Prefer to keep my system clean and free from unused software. So sorry :(
