Activation and piracy

I don't play in a sandbox John. I'll leave that you and the other crybaby juvenlies. Damn, I know how to punch your button don't I. I wish you really knew how much entertainment you provide every time you act up. And if you don't act up for awhile, we can always look at your posting history and see all the red from YOU deleting your own garbage... after you sober up and realize you made a ass of yourself again.

ROTFLMAO!

Sure Billy, but you still haven't answered THE question (and we ALL know why.)

By the way, get a spell checker. Your constant spelling mistakes make you seem "ignerent."

Oh the humor. Can I keep posting.. can I? can I?

Hey BillyBoy, I'm making a run to the Quickimart tomorrow for some milk and some candybars. I know the "no shirt, no shoes, no service" keeps you out. Can I pick something up for ya?

And I haven't had a harsh email from you on the side like you send Spot and John C.

chenopup@covad.net.... just incase you don't have it.

Sorry... I am reading this stuff a bit late, but if I was here earlier...

Billy Boy:
Can I buy a clue?

Moderator:
Apparently not.

geez grow up guys, all of you...

Billy Boy started before Zippy, but Z was more creative. I'm sure he (Zippy) won in wasted Sony disk space in the forums during his brief but infamous reign. If BB keeps going, he may win by consistancy in the long run. Turtle vs Hare.

Judges will be needed to decide if the message thread is purely a waste of space. So, maybe, BB, you will enter Spot's realm by finally winning some kind of award.

One can keep composure if a dog snaps at your ankles for a few minutes.

Let this continue for days or weeks and eventually most of us will kick back.

Billy, Billy, Billy........ What ever shall we do with you.... ;'(

Yeah well, just wait until Billy decides to unload on you and see how you feel. I've never met anyone that can carry a grudge as long as he can. Just worship him and you'll be fine.

OK John, now I'll get on your case!

I hate people who post out of context in a thread. You do use "threaded" view don't you.

Pisses me off when people just post after the last thing they saw and change the whole tone of the sub-thread.

Billyboy hijacks threads deliberately, but often the accidental posters do too.

(Although I threw in a couple exclamation points !!! this isn't a big deal --- just a minor pet peeve.)
John_Cline wrote on 6/4/2004, 10:38 PM
Sorry RexA. I don't use the threaded view so I've never considered the potential problem. I'll be more careful in the future.

For what it's worth, I was responding to a post from Nat.

Dang, it's hard to build a message from different parts of the same thread.

Anyway, yes I could tell...

> For what it's worth, I was responding to a post from Nat.

When you view it so the threads follow the message that you are responding to, your reply follows Stardust99's message:

>Well said Spot!
>
>Terry

That was apparently the message you had in your view when you posted your reply.

I guess you can back up to the relevant message to reply, but I've never tried it , so I could be wrong.

I was pretty sure that these things happened because of different views of the "world as forum"

glad we brought it out in the open.
John_Cline wrote on 6/4/2004, 11:05 PM
RexA,

I understand what happened, I just clicked on the nearest "reply" button and not the reply button associated with the message to which I was responding. Like I said, I have never used the threaded view so I was unaware of what it was doing to you "threaded" guys. It will never happen again and thanks for bringing it to my attention. I learn something new every day (just not from Billy.)

Now, to get this thread back on track, let me say, "piracy sucks!"

"SPOT loves to express HIS OPINIONS which of course is fine. SPOT doesn't like people to express their opinions if they're 180 degrees from his."

When did Spot ever try to keep anyone else from express their opinions?

Please point me to those threads. I for one can not remember a single time that he has tryed to keep anyone from expressing their opinions.

"Some of you may find what I say insulting."

No just pointless.

" I do my part to keep it lively."

If not off topic.

Man....I go away to play a gig and the dang thread doubles in size....

SOMEWHAT on topic, I don't think anyone made the point in the difference between the activation issues mentioned in this thread....maybe someone did and I missed it because Cheetoes were flying across the desk, I'm laughing so hard. BELIEVE me, Billy...we're the onesl getting humor out of this one.

As Spot found out, PS requires reactivation because an external hard drive was added / changed on the system...that's pretty f***ing stupid, period. Vegas requires activation, but once activated will not be invasive again. See the difference?

Do you see the difference?

A user posted about Vegas' activation, Spot said it isn't that bad (compared to PS especially)....and WHY on God's great earth would you argue with that?

pking36330 wrote on 6/5/2004, 7:17 AM
I think that Billy, Spot, and all the others posting in this forum have wasted enough time and talent. As reparation, I think each of them owes us several new scripts, veggies or tutorials.

We will then judge the winner of this verbal fracas based on their contribution to forum through new tools, tips, toys, and tweaks.

Sound fair?

"Yeah well, just wait until Billy decides to unload on you and see how you feel."

Having played online games for a few years when I was younger, I think I learned one important thing, never get upset and attack someone on the net, it's way too easy. billy (or anyone else) has no reason of attacking me, but if such thing occured, it wouldn't be as entertaining as what you see now, I would simply not reply, too much waste of time, would those thing hurt my feeling ? It might in some way, but never as much as real life fight...

This fighting over who's more proficient at video editing makes the stuff we used to fight about in 2nd grade seem less stupid. Glad BB isn't the dictator over one of those countries in the Middle East :)
jmeredith wrote on 6/5/2004, 10:00 AM
The thread actually isn't about who's more proficient at video editing but activation procedures and whether or not some of them are going too far. The thread was then hijacked by BB so that he could bust Spot and John's chops some more.

Several of us got (myself included) finally got tired of BB's irrational behavior and spoke up on behalf of 2 really cool individuals and gave BB a taste of his own medicine (though, I must say, I thought we were a lot funnier).

Since all is quiet on the BB front, maybe he's off at class learning Web design and image manipulation - maybe he's finally realized that he is quite alone in his opinions of Spot and John - or maybe just maybe, like the Grinch, he finally grew a heart and is trying to learn how to carry on a conversation without resorting to vicious, sarcasm. As much as he pissed me off yesterday, I still believe BB has something valuable to offer - unfortunately, it too often gets overshadowed by his jealousy of Spot and John.

Doubt it.

Heart season comes after corn season in the South, so it may not be until fall that BillyBoy is able to grow a mature heart.

...I've been following this thread very carefully and I have read between the lines... it appears everyone on this forum gets free software... Sony must have been very happy when I paid for Vegas ... kinda feel like I pay the salaries around here...

Guys, a lot of this is heartfelt, some is intended in fun, and some is genuine venting...But I'm sorry I even partially responded to the jab at me, only because it allowed this thread to go way off track. That's not a good thing for any of us. Whether I agree or not with the posts, and most of them I do, the person being poked at is a real person, and does offer help regardless of how it comes out. Maybe we'll all take something away from the thread?

For the second time in four years, I'm using the IGNORE button. I'd urge you to do the same if this thread bugged you. This is a great forum filled with great people. We all learn from each other, I hope we can quickly let this thread die a natural death? (even as I just contributed to it again.
