activation of Vegas Pro 15 on another computer

Michael-Gani wrote on 5/2/2021, 4:05 AM

Hi,

I purchased Vegas Pro 15 via Humble Bundle several years ago and used it on an old laptop. Now I'm trying to use it on my new desktop but I am not able to activate it. When I use the license key from Humble Bundle I get an "Error -24" saying

"This serial number has already been registered to another email adress. Please contact MAGIX support".

I have already deactivated the program on my old laptop and I have checked that it also asks for a license when I try to run the program on it. So it is deactivated.

Perhaps I am just really dense, but getting in touch with a human being from Vegas/MAGIX seems like it requires some kind of arcane wizardry. Anyone got suggestions or know what I should do to get the program running on my desktop?

Thanks in advance.

If you use the forum search and enter "Error 24", you will soon find what you are looking for.

From the Vegas Help Centre:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/article/how-to-solve-error-code-24--2/

Another avenue is to go to your MAGIX My Account and under My Products locate your Vegas Pro 15 registration and de-activate it there.

If all the above doesn't prove successful, you'd need to lodge a Support ticket via the Ask Support link:

Like many companies these days, phone access is not currently available as it used to be often due to 'work-at-home' arrangements for an all too obvious reason.

Live Chat may be an option depending on your location. Please see point 6 re Live Chat in:

Obvious question - you are using the same email address?

Thanks for the comments - You are right Walter, I should've done more research in advance. Unfortunately it seems a support ticket is what I need.

I am using the same e-mail address, but for some reason I didn't have a MAGIX account beforehand. So I created one but can't activate the license there because it says it is already tied to an e-mail. Which is the one I created the account with.

I might also try the Live Chat if I access it! That's exactly what I was hoping for.
