All videos slowed down and cut in length

Twinkey wrote on 2/9/2017, 6:46 AM

hey recently ive noticed a problem with my sonyvegas pro 12. when i drop in a clip of lets say 36 sec it is cut down to 7 but the audio is still the full length, why does it do this and how do i make it so i can use the whole video again?

i have used these exact clips before so im 100% sure that they are suppose to be longer.

*edit* the media info says 600 frames per second but it is cut down to 100 fps in sonyvegas, any clue why it get limited like this? i have used these clips before and it use to say 600fps in their properties

.

How were the clips generated (what camera/software)? Can you post the MediaInfo and maybe share a sample clip on Google Drive/Dropbox/WeTransfer etc.?

I just tested one of these clips - "Clip1.mp4".

MediaInfo reports totally different lengths for video and audio streams. Video is 5 seconds, while audio is 1 minute and 52 seconds.
Tried to playback in VLC-player and video freezes after 5 seconds while audio play along.

These files are broken, imho.

From the Mediainfo report, it appears that the files were encoded in Handbrake. The video reports an extreme frame rate of 300 fps. Audio appears to be flat-lined. No sound from any of my players.

You might try the Handbrake community. It's a bad encode.

when i could use them (1 month ago ish) they were diplayed as 600 fps and i was a little longer but slowed down if you could say so, but atleast it showed the whole thing :S

dxdy wrote on 2/9/2017, 4:20 PM

That 300 fps anomaly has popped up for me too. I had to manually change the fps from 300, which was some kind of default, to 30 or whatever it should have been in the Handbrake screens. Possibly Handbrake 1.0.x has fixed this.
