@john_dennis @RogerS Thank you for the clarification, and I apologize for being too emotional (I had limited time, just one setup with Vegas Pro 21 and the unique source material, which I basically couldn't record again). So I tried to find an explanation in my hardware or the latest Vegas Pro 21 update (build 315). I have used Vegas for many years, and I honestly haven't tried MKV files before, only MP4. Seems like their support in Vegas Pro was always limited. I'll follow the tutorial https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-what-obs-studio-settings-work-well-with-vegas-pro--109925/ and next time will record from OBS properly. ShutterEncoder is a powerful tool, thanks. I'm used to ffmpeg command line, though sometimes it's faster to have some GUI on top.

By the way, I've found a way to use AMD HW decoder again. In OBS there is a "Keyframe Interval" value set to 0 (auto) by default. I tried using 1s or 2s, then the video playback works just fine in Vegas on AMD HW Decoder (File I/O section). In combination with MP4 container instead of MKV, I can work with output recordings from OBS Studio without any issue.
