Bad ping caused by Magix connect

JuusoJuuso wrote on 1/3/2019, 2:42 AM

Every ~10 s my ping was as high as 2000ms. (ping www.google.com -t).

Online gaming was horrible due to enourmous lag..

By removing Magix Connect problem disappeared.

Windows 10 64bit, Wlan.

Why this occured I have no idea.

Only clue to solve this were that Magix connect being quite active in Task Manager without giving any processor load % anyway.

Other one was that this add-on was installed two day ago.

Thank you so much. I've had so much stress for the last 2 weeks. I haven't been able to talk to people online or play online games. I tried so many things to fix this over this time period. I changed my settings, used the command center, downloaded a WLAN thing. I even bought a new USB WIFI connector. Then, I thought, what did i download within the last 2 weeks that could cause this? I thought for a long time and finally remembered I installed Magix programs from a Humble Bundle. I looked up if Magix causes lag and found this post. Who knows how much longer I would've went without knowing what was causing the problem if this post didn't exist, so thank you, stranger. The program that caused this problem is annoying even if it didn't cause severe lag spikes. It pops up an advertisement for some useless products that are "on sale" for hundreds of dollars about every hour. I wasted so much time and money because of this stupid company.

It should be said that Magix has changed this process - the "Update Notifier" app is used for newer versions.
In the app you can activate or deactivate the "message service" for the individual installed programs.
I can say I don't notice any delays - but I haven't measured them either.
