@BruceUSA @Kinvermark Is updated.

Just saw yours now @GJeffrey, will update very soon, thanks.

@GJeffrey Is updated. No FPS for region 1?

Former user wrote on 7/21/2019, 6:07 AM

@TheRhino @Grazie @JS2019 and others, please check that the FPS values (Min-Max for only region 1, at Best/full) you entered were done after I added in region 1 to the project. If not I'd appreciate you updating same, simply post here any new values and I'll update the spreadsheet accordingly.

To save you guys the hassle of downloading the complete zip file again I've added the project file by itself as a single file download at the same download location, my first post in this thread.

If you're ok with your info then that's fine also.

Make sure that "Adjust size and quality for optimal playback" is un-checked.

@GJeffrey only updated now, slipup.

I know there are a lot more Vegas users on this forum. Don't be shy, show us your system, how does its perform? I am really interested in seeing the Intel 18 cores @4.6ghz i9 9980XE know as (Tripleflip) are you still around? and the older 8 cores intel chip, 5960X, 9800X users. We need more users input data to better analyze what Vegas like best for hardware.

Indeed, well said @BruceUSA. Where is @bitman, @OldSmoke and all the others when you need a bit of testing done? Maybe on their holidays? Even so, I can’t see @OldSmoke leaving that newly built rig behind🤣

fr0sty wrote on 7/21/2019, 6:49 AM

FWIW, my results are accurate for FPS, I did measure them within that region.

Bruce, yeah, my results for UHD weren't far from that, topping out around the upper 19's, low of 8.

Systems:

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

Geforce RTX 3090

@GJeffrey Thanks, is now updated.

A user data input file, spreadsheet and render templates for FHD and UHD are also at this location.

The spreadsheet and the spreadsheet screen captures below are updated in the download link location as new results come in. If i’m away from my PC it might be a while.

There's a single region marked out on the project, region 1. Maybe use it to check the Min. and Max. fps playback rates. This was added later, so if you have previously downloaded the zip, no need to do again, I've uploaded the project file as a single separate download. The same updated .veg is also in the zip.

JN. The 7-12 frame rate on my TR is not from region 1 as per your screen shot. I just rerun exact screen shot (region 1) I am actually getting 21-25. I rerun many times and seeing 24-25 and some times seeing 21-25. So I take the lowest number.

The other section of the where I get 7-12 frame rate is from here. I am attach a screen shot. I wonder any one having low frame from this area?

@Grazie @BruceUSA Thanks Grazie and BruceUSA, both are updated now.

Aok BruceUSA, if that's what your getting with the TR then excellent. The region 1 is marked in in the updated project file which is at the same download location.

I think it best to just use a single region for FPS testing.

When I did my own testing originally I saw that the fps was all over the place, and very fast, high fps near the end. So I chose a piece (at the start and end of two noise textures) not near the end and that didn’t seem to vary too much. There might be better places to have put Region 1, but it is what it is now. That surely is a beast🤪.

Former user wrote on 7/21/2019, 10:10 AM

@BruceUSA I checked that other region that you marked up and I get 7-9 fps there. I found that continuing to run in loop mode after more than a few trips and the fps varies even more, caching of some sort probably kicks in.

If I don't catch it, min and max, after a few tries, before the caching takes over, I close VP then start again to get realistic values.

@frmax, I agree, doubtful if those other programs would make any difference. Do you want to post your FPS min and max values for region 1 also?

Ill hang on a little while updating your results in case you do, thanks.

Former user wrote on 7/21/2019, 10:29 AM

@frmax The playback fps rate isn’t dependent on the render templates, just playing region 1 and watching the fps readout below the preview window.

Ill hang on a little while longer in case you want to modify same. You only need one FPS playback result.

The two specific region I marked with screen shot. I ran multi test and reported the low reading as I observe the loop. region 1 is not bogging down the frame rate on my system But other section where I have marked did bog down to 7-12 frames.

@BruceUSA Agreed, same with my PC. Your getting very good playback.

BruceUSA wrote on 7/21/2019, 10:47 AM

The thing I don't quite understand why seems the majority people are having problem with low frame rate on region 1. Both of mine system ran good on region 1. BUT the other region where both of my system bogging down. 4930K ran 20-25 frames on region 1. Other section got 6-10 frame. After all, 4930K is a old 2nd gen I7.

@BruceUSA Ok, maybe I missed something here, should I change your 4930K to 20-25 fps? Because the only region that testing is done on is Region 1, for the spreadsheet.

BruceUSA wrote on 7/21/2019, 11:30 AM

JN. If we are only mainly looking at the frame rate on region 1 only, Then yes,

Hi JN,

my fps with region 1 is 21 to 25.

But VP sometime crashes when stopping the test, no fun. In the last 3 runs everything was smooth and no crash (conditions weren´t altered in all cases!). I will never understand

@BruceUSA @frmax Not at PC now, I'll update later, thanks. Just in case either of you may have overlooked it, in my very 1st. post for this thread, at the bottom, there's a multi coloured screenshot of what's needed to properly do the FPS test, see the red, green and yellow items.

@frmax That freezing might be since win 1903 update. Theres another thread where Grazie and others have had the problem also.

frmax wrote on 7/21/2019, 12:31 PM

Yes , and you repeated it 7/21; done exactly that way

Thx , I will check the 1903 freezing thread
