I found there's a free application called Resource Hacker which lets you modify parts of a file such as bitmaps.

When comparing 13th & 14th version of the product i found this:

Here are some of the modified bitmaps, you have to open your Vegas executable in the software, choose the wanted image and right click --> Replace Resource..
