i believe that it's the same issue that i was dealing with in here:
https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas20-b214-media-fx-messes-up-preview--137750/

unfortunately over 2 months of going back and forth with the MAGIX support in my ticket but still no solution to this problem.

Confirming problem and solution...

I have the same problem and went to this thread to try to find the answer. Thanks to all.

I was trying to put a Color Corrector Secondary on a Media FX in order to match another camera on two different video tracks. When I added the Media FX, the whole video track switched over to the other track. So it "killed" the track that I was using with the Media FX.

I checked my nVidia GPU driver, and a few other things. No solution.

Then when I tried Preview (Full) it seems to fix the problem.

Yep, confirming... I can toggle the problem and solution by just changing Preview from (Full) to (Auto), etc. I must use (Full) in order to add any Media FX effects. Thank you for helping fix this problem.

VP20 Build 214 Intel nVidia

PS - In my opinion, this should be an important fix in the next Build. A serious problem.

I think this issue is well-established at this point, but I'll throw my hat into the ring.

As others have said, something about this issue seems tethered to the viewport scaling size. If I have GPU-acceleration either enabled or disabled, and the viewport is anything other than Full, VP20 will crash if it loads an impacted project (I've had it crash while using LUT and Median FX). Oddly, if GPU-acceleration is disabled, VP20 crashes immediately on the load of an impacted project, whereas acceleration on gives me enough time to avoid the crash by changing the viewport preview to Full.

It seems stable if viewport is set to Full, but I haven't done exhaustive testing.

I'm happy to say the new V20 release appears to have fixed this bug! Fantastic!

Communication Improvement Opportunity --- I didn't see this fix included in the release notes. I'm wondering if a mention could happen on the forum when a bug like this has been found and fixed? Or did I not follow a required process to get an "issue #" needed to make it to the release notes or something? I'm not complaining -- happy to see it was addressed -- just noting an opportunity for continuing improvements in communication.
