Bug report: track audio FX lost when archiving projects

David Johns wrote on 4/19/2019, 8:46 AM

Not sure if this is how to report bugs officially and I've been meaning to do this for years so here goes. In (Sony) Vegas 13 and now in Magix Vegas 16, when I use Project Archiving, any track audio FX get stripped out from the archived .veg file.

It's most peculiar but happens consistently so I always end up having to do the archive then copy my original .veg over to the archive location.

For example, I use WaveHammer a lot on my voiceover and pieces to camera; in the archive .veg file it ain't there no more!

Just me?

I'm glad you see it too because I reported it to Magix and they said it didn't happen. I just tested again with a project of one blank audio track to which I added Wave Hammer, then archived it and it did not archive the effect. So it's clearly evident and has been the case in Vegas 16 and now 17.

Also confirmed in VP17. Audio FX are lost from both tracks and events. I added it to the Known Issues post.

@David Johns Please follow through the support process. A link to this thread would help. That's the best way of getting this into the developers' backlog.

With apologies for being dense Nick, how do I "follow through the support process" because that's what I did before when Magix replied and said they couldn't see it happening!! I'll try again and add the link as you suggest though.

Thanks @David Johns. On Monday I try to verify this and write a bug report.

Basically I just meant keep the email dialog going, but I know it's not easy if the support team can't reproduce an issue. But because the support dialog is all just email-based, I think it's worth submitting a follow-up email with further evidence (e.g. A link to this thread), even if the issue has been "closed". It seems better for that to come from you, under your original issue number, than another of us submitting a new report. But if @VEGASPascal has verified it and logged it (?) then there would be no need.
